          The hills emerge from the heart of Assam like a chorus of silent hymns and rise up to the sky like crescendo of music. The sportive clouds play around the cliffs like gleeful children. The summer rains drains the hills and spread an unfathomable mystery. The playful sun showers its gold from behind the imposing BARAIL rains and warms up the wintry dawn. The autumn midday has its siesta in eerie silence. Exotic wildlife haunts the jungle of night and plays and howls around the sleepy villages that dot the luxuriant green.

Land & People : The small and serene villages shelter the lovely people warm and fascinating and as colorful as the land itself. Their intoxicating environs bloom into euqally intoxicating body breaks, steeps and sounds. They robe themselves in the choicest cloths which are blended on their tiny looms. The girls pick wild flowers and dance make more flowers bloom. Almost the TAHITIAN EVES, they preserve in their forms and hearts the first dawn of creation.

Forest & Wild Life : Dense forests keep you company all the way and at times even tend to cover up your path in sportive jest. The mirthful hollock gibbons play hide and seed with you. Diphu : Diphu is the Head Quarter to Kerbi Anglong District and 271 kms from Guwahati by road. It is connected by N.F. Railway and State Transport Buses from Guwahati. Nearest Airport is Dimapur 54 kms.

Haflong: Up in the rugged terrains stands Assam's only hill station Haflong where one can see the rainbow down below. It is the district Head Quarter of North Cachar Hills District. A beautiful big lack "Haflong Lake" is located in the heart of the Haflong town. Haflong is 345 kms. by road from Guwahati and connected by N.F. Railway and State Transport Buses ply from Guwahati.

Jatinga : 9 kms from Haflong.Famous for bird mysrery. The migratory birds come during the month of August to November and it becomes the ornithologist's attraction. From the elevated watch tower one can see them yeilding to their death wish and their little plumage dropping down.

Maibong : Located on the Bank of Mahur river and 47 kms from Haflong. Maibong once flourished as the capital of Dimasa, Kachari Kingdom. Stone house and temple of Kachari king can be seen at Maibong.

Umrangshu : 224 kms from Guwahati by road. The biggest Hydel plant has come up under North East Electric Power Corporation (NEEPCO) with dams in the kopili river. Near Umrangshu, there is a Hot spring (GARAMPANI), the water of which is belived to have medicinal value.
