KAZIRANGA  NATIOAL  PARK


          Kaziraga National Park, the oldest in Assam lies partly in Golaghat Distict and partly in the Nagaon District of Assam. It covers an areas of 430 square kilometer. It is the best home of the Great Indian one horned rhinoceros. The landscape of Kaziranga is of sheer forest, tall elephat grass, rugged reeds, marshes & shallow pools. Kaziranga has bee declared as a National Park in 1974.

Wildlife Species  :

                 Rhinoceros, Elephat, Idia iso, Swamp Deer, Samer, Hog Deer, Sloth bear, Tiger, Leopard, Leopard cat, Jugle cat, Hog badger, Capped lagur, Hoolock gibo, Jackal, Goose, Hornbills, Lbis, Cormorats, Egret, Hero Fishig Eagle etc.During winter a large number of migratory birds are see here....

How To Get There :

                Kaziranga is 217 kms from Guwahati and 96 kms. from Jorhat by road. The nearest airpot is Rowraia (Jorhat).Tourist can fly to Jorhat or can go by car and us to Kaziranga from Guwahati. The nearest rail head is Furkatig.
