The Management

So. My name is Danielle, my middle name is Faye, and my last name is scottish in origin. Whee!
I have a fat gray Silver American Shorthair cat named Toby (AKA "Babes"), and I used to have a hamster named Bilbo [who sadly passed on], and after came Frodo [who, as well, sadly passed on]. I also had a goldfish named Glorfindel [who, sadly - meh, you know the drill]. Now I am hamster-less and fish-less, but I DO have the cat. Uh, yay. *cough*
So. My favourite colours are yellow and blue, and my ambition is to teach English as a Second Language in Japan (failing this, then probably in British Columbia...whee...). I like to groove to the music of Our Lady Peace, Matchbox Twenty, David Usher, the GooGoo Dolls, and Green Day (muchly eclectic, I know :P). My favourite actors are Elijah Wood, Sean Connery, Drew Barrymore, and Leelee Sobieski, and as for movies - I love LotR (No, really?!), "Billy Elliot", "Taps", "Rat Race", and "The Bumblebee Flies Anyway". Hmm... I think that's it for media stuff. *crosses eyes and sticks out tongue*.
Oh! How could I have forgotten! Literature - I love to read, and this includes anything by J.R.R. Tolkien (wow, you must be kidding!), and J.K. Rowling [which means the Harry Potter series]. As far as individual books go, "The Power of One" takes the cake so far (this of course, still being behind Tolkien and Rowling stuff). This is me looking studious:
Okay, hobbies/interests. Well, i'm in the Royal Canadian Air Cadets, so I have an appreciation for the military and whatnot. I also play the snare drum [for scottish music], and am currently in the Grand Celtic Pipe Band, as well as the potential Drum Sergeant for my cadet squadron's drum corps. I love to downhill ski and play rugby, and I'm currently in a wonderful youth group that meets at the church where my private school was [from gr. 1 to gr. 8]. I enjoy reading and I write poetry [I've had a poem published before in the anthology "Colours of the Rainbow"]. I enjoy doing art courses at school, and I especially enjoy working with pastels and sketching [frankly, I absolutely SUCK at water colour]. Also, I like to shop and hang out with my friends. WOW!
So. That's me. Whee. *bows*
I live in lovely Canada, in the lovely province of Ontario, and in a lov-- erk, more like sucky - small town.
I attend a high school made for 900 students, but it currently boasts over 1400. Which is not a good thing, because the hallways are very crowded, and the supplies are very crappy.
As for my family, my dad is a pilot for Air Canada, and mother is a stay-at-home mom. She's French, BTW, so she has what my friends call a "funky-kool accent" that I am not aware of. Uh, okay. I also have a brother - four years older then me - named David, who is currently studying to be a pilot at a college all the way across the province. (YAY! I mean... oh, how sad! *cries fakely*)
Yo!

I am Galsan, the new co-host(ess!) of this groovin' site! Like Danielle, I am Canadian as well, hurrah! yes. I tried and tried and tried to read The Hobbit for many years, as i was told that it was a great book, but i never managed to get past the breakfast bit. Finally, i started reading it in the beginning of December of 2oo1(i wanted to read all the books before i saw the movie).....i (am very proud of the fact that i) finished reading the last book in the Lord of the Rings trilogy on the morning of the premiere of The Fellowship of the Ring (we had advance tickets to see it that day, of course!)....i suppose that's my story, yes!
Here's me growling at my (dad's) digital camera:
I lurve Frodo, though recently I have another favourite character as well ....NOT, of course, that Frodo is not brilliantly wonderful, but...yes....(hides in shame of Pippin-lurve)....just so you all know my terrible dark secret...yes! I like drawing, and you'll probably see some fanart from me here....yay! (to see more, see here or this one, or even this piece of cheese!)
Yes!
I also like books by Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman, Jules Verne, Ray Bradbury, Madelene L'Engle, J.K. Rowling, Daniel Quinn, Arthur C. Clarke, Isaac Asimov, and many others. I just like reading in general! Wheehee! I go to a school for the arts and love acting/writing/visual art.....(shamelessplug*buy doujisoup!*shamelessplug). I too have a scottish/irish (long story) last name, though no cool accent. It seems like we Canucks have really bland accents, though that might just be because it's what i'm used to. i dunno.

guess that's all......Peace Out, FrodoFans! :)
