On December 28, 2004, we dedicated the “Parque Infantil Carlos Soza Manzanero” community playground.  There were over 1000 children at the dedication!  On average, 400-500 children per day are enjoying the playground.  The park in San Andres has come back to life—parents on park benches watching their children enjoy, vendors selling ice cream, and the sounds of children at play.  Before December 28, an entire generation of children in San Andres, Petén, Guatemala had never used a slide or a swing.  Now, they have the best playground in northern Guatemala.
