The Viva la Selva Library and Cultural Center is a grass roots effort.  The only way we can keep our doors open is through fundraising and volunteerism.  Our annual operating budget is approximately $7,000, which includes the salary of the librarian, new books and educational resources, electricity, telephone/internet, building maintenance, reading campaigns, and cultural programs.   We desperately need your help so the children of San Andres can continue to enjoy all the benefits of Viva la Selva.

There are three ways that you can make a difference…

1. By making a tax-deductible contribution.

2. By helping out here in the states to build awareness, write proposals, raise funds, and dream up cool things we could do.

3. By going to Guatemala and volunteering at Viva la Selva.  You can also study Spanish in the same community.

See below for more details.

To Make a Tax-Deductible Contribution:

- Please make your contribution out to:

          The Alabama PTNRS of America

- Please indicate on your check or in a separate note that your contribution is for Viva la Selva.

- Please send it to:

               Daniel Irwin

               105 Wigon Circle

               Madison, AL 35758

The Partners of the Americas Alabama-Guatemala Chapter is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, and is accepting donations on behalf of Viva la Selva. 100% of your donation goes to Viva la Selva.

To Help Out Here in the States:

I’m always in need of help here in the states.  The options are endless: write proposals,  develop Spanish educational modules, spread the word, dream up ideas, etc.  I’m basically a one-person shop and doing this in my spare time.  Therefore, I could desperately use your help.  Please email me—Dan Irwin—if you’d like to get your hands dirty.

To Volunteer at Viva la Selva

Do you have a special talent (art, dance, music, martial arts, etc.) you’d like to share with the children of San Andrés? If so, perhaps you’re interested in spending a few days, a week, or maybe more volunteering at Viva la Selva?  Of course, we can’t pay your expenses, but we can set everything up and guarantee you’ll have an amazing experience.  Also, the EcoEscuela Spanish School is literally right across the street from Viva la Selva, so you can learn Spanish in the morning and volunteer in the afternoons.  What a great way to spend your vacation!

The children of San Andrés appreciate your support.
