Chinese New Year (Jan 24, 2004), Hong Kong

it’s been 10 long years since i’ve spent my chinese new year in hk and 逗利是 in person.  nice to gather around with family.  even though it’s cold as hell, (paradox?!?!), the new year spirit is high  in our home (not on the streets though).

揮春on the back wall are written by my sis.  heavily criticized by me.  hehe.  the pics of my sis and jose look so professional (taken by me, of course).  look like they’re stars posting for tvb magazines.  haha.

12:30 pm, grandma & uncle john’s

our custom is to go visit grandma first thing in the morning of 年初一.  we bought 盤菜for lunch so she didn’t have to cook (on which she spends lotz and lotz of time).  if you can see the 對聯 (again, written by my sis for uncle john’s family) clearly, it says something like “ 靈羊報捷騰雲去 ” , “ 金猴獻瑞好運來 ”.  so the pics are explained as follows:  my cousin, serena, who’s born in 羊年;  my sis, wendy, aka 雲黛;  and of course, me, a monkey girl with my 金元寶 mandarin oranges.

6:30 pm, back to tsing yi

picked up grandma & grandpa for dinner at my house.  kinda funny because we drove them to our place for us to 拜年 (to them).  took some more pics of the same setting since my sis and i thought the ones from the morning were great.
