 trailer foreword: oh my god, the setting alone will worth the
tix. round
table knights, king arthur, sir chancelot (reminds me of the poem we did in
gr12 eng...)...what else can i ask
for?? watched the trailer when seeing <<troy>>.
both backgrounds --- medieval & greek/roman civilization are my fav. together with
that of fantasy (LOTR), these 3 (actually 5) movies definitelly earn my 2nd viewing. i don't remember
who's starring, all i know is that i can't wait to see it.
a bit of a disappointment, but i admit that i’m
still a bit biased for these kind of medieval plots. sometimes
you just have to be good at eng lit & European history to
appreciate these kinds of movies. and not everyone is. and
the pace is a teeny bit on the slow side.
can’t believe they kill off my 3 fav characters just like that!! the aloof
knight with the eagle---you know for sure i’ll
like him. he
kinda looks like aragon. took
me a while to recall what movie character (& from what movie)
he reminded me of. it’s the princess’ body guard with
an eagle and markings on his face from <<the mummy
returns>>. i have the same
comment (about looking like aragon) on him too.
then it’s the bulky
bald guy who sacrifices himself to safe his fellow warriors and
the kid he’s fond of. he’s the kind of character i
always like the best. man
with little words, like 四師傅 in 射鵰. every
word that comes out of his mouth is meaningful and
necessary. what a pity that he’s the first to be
killed off.
lancelot, of course, is
another of my fav. he’s
supposed to be a charming, handsome romanticist whom every lady
likes. not
badly casted at all either. it’s
nice to see that he’s not those kind of blonde legolas-type guy, but one who looks like a
medieval knight. reminded me so much of the excalibur
show in LV with the gals: the “wink”, “wet-look”,
& bb, stuffing bills down t-strings?!?! oh
man, what a great time we have. don’t know when we’ll
get a chance to go on a trip like that together again…which
also reminds me, I should have brought that broken metal excalibur frame with me whenever i go!! no one can replace my “old”
gang o’ gals! i can’t
do anything without your support & LAUGHTER!!! (hmm…sounded
a bit like a yrbk writeup…)
