<<1, 2, 3 到你>> concert featuring chet lam, the pancakes, & ketchup was awesome!! my illness didn’t
prevent me from enjoying this great show:
clapped hard despite my seemingly-incurable left wrist
pain and yelled loud in spite of my sore throat. :P chet lam’s live
performance, like usual, could only be described with one word: “captivating”. when he sang <<細水長留>> in espanol, i realized i wasn’t
captured by anything but his voice. little have i been so attentive to a
performance have i little knowledge of the lyrics. but this time it’s
different. i said
to myself, “how can i not love this guy??” and with his
harmonica and flute, i can’t but admit that i’m a fan. (long
since i’ve admitted that i’m a fan, since the time of the
beatles and alan tam.)
can’t believe he sang all (but ALL) of my fav songs (by him). haven’t even warmed my
seat when he sang <<離開, 是為了回來>> (a jazzy, light
version, which, coincidentally suit my recent mood) and <<the best is yet to come>>.
ken from ketchup is worth listening to too. he has such a 黃子華feel:
both his style, his words, and his voice. (yup, my dearest lily,
you’ll like him for sure.) his low profile is kinda 討好too.
i like his singing, and enjoyed his songs, but when it’s
chet’s turn to sing, he just got overshone. nonetheless, i wanna
buy his albums, which are quite rare, after the concert, but
they were sold out.
will look for them later on. hopefully he didn’t keep them all to
himself.

p.s. i thought i was
enjoying the 911 show so much partly because of the person i
saw it with, but it turned out that it’s the music I’m truly
enjoying. i was so
high tonite,
stood for most of the show, (despite the relunctance of my
oh-not-so-young sis by my side). even though the words and lyrics still
reminded me of my suppressed emotions, (and still wet my eyes),
i was removed from my usual sentimental self, truly immersed
into the music.
realized it was the magic of da music afterall…

have seen
lotza movies lately.
have lotza thoughts while in the theatre, and many quotes
that i’d like to recall.
but can never remember them exactly once i’m outta there.
dunno why i
can so easily relate words to my own experiences. 聯想力與感情都太豐富罷?
got an
inspiring thought during sunday’s mass though. (i am thankful for the
thorough explanation from my dearest mom.) the sermon was about
jesus fighting against satan’s temptation during the 40 days of
lent. as a human
being, jesus quoted words from the bible in response and proved
his faith. we all
face these temptations in our every day lives, especially during
times of weaknesses.
instead of surrounding myself with (often self-pitying)
thoughts from songs and movies, why couldn’t i turn to the bible
for inspiration and guidance through life? with this thought in mind,
i hope i can get through life’s hard time.

p.s. there might be a bit too much personal
thoughts involved in the moview and lyrics pages. most of them are
experiences in the past year. when asked if 2003 is of any particular
significance, i answered that it was by far the most
unforgettable in my entire life. you guys’ll probably be too bored to read
those long writings. (joe won’t even try reading them, as he’ll
be sound asleep by now.)
but if you do care to take a look, you’ll notice that they
are organized in chronological order, and you might be able to
grasp what’s going on in my life and the motives behind
them. or better yet,
read them as a story, told my your dear friend from afar.

got complains from grace
saying my page has too little stuff in it. aiya, what do you expect
man?! i've full time
(often overtime) work, have to tutor part-time, volunteer (at
spca, in case you're wondering. yeah, i’m missing my dogs
so much that i’ve to go play with other dogs.), taking one exam every
month (see news),
and still have to maintain a webpage!!!! geez, no wonder i’m having
quadruple eye bags.
oh
and just in case you haven’t noticed, there’s a menu on the side
which include some more links. and my selected quote, updated now and
then. do have a
look.

didn’t
know why i started this page. didn’t know why i named it “...odds &
ends”. didn’t know
what to put in here as a first launch. realized that i didn’t know nothing afterall.
got too many interests in my
life. so many topics
/ pages i wanna start
but know for sure i won’t have time to finish up. just like my homepage and
my dogs’ homepage. 有頭無尾, that’s me.
special thanx to dav for
giving me the link to the open source web design. saved me a lot of
time. i know, i’m
not 乖 or 聽話 and should have studied for
linux and CRE instead~~
but this is way more interesting man.
