To say Savage Garden is hot is an understatement. These guys are sizzling. As TV WEEK goes to press they are at number one on the singles and the albums charts. Their third single, Truly Madly Deeply, is their second number one, following To The Moon & Back. And their self-titled album debuted at number one, going platinum in a week, selling more than 70,000 copies. Their first single, I Want You - a Top Five hit in Australia - is sitting in the U.S. Top 15. To think that this time last year, we'd never heard of this Brisbane duo. Now everyone wants them.

At the Aerosmith launch in New York, Lenny Kravitz came up to me (Molly Meldrum) and said: "Molly, who is this Savage Garden?" And word is David Bowie rang to ask if Savage Garden would support him on his upcoming tour. To my mind, the Savage Garden debut is one of the most refreshing albums of the year. It's simply great pop.
