They're Massive On Stage!

Darren: Our tour is called The Future of Earthly Delights, and we have this enormous backdrop, which has hundreds of tiny floodlights sewn into it. There's a whole series of scaffolds and stairwells, a big catwalk and grills with smoke and stuff! It's like a futuristic city, very theatrical!

Daniel: The whole thing is very in your face! There's no escape...

They're huge Down Under!

Darren: The ARIAs are like the Australian version of the BRITS, and we won 10 in one night! It was amazing because we only have one album and we're up against established bands like INXS and Crowded House - people who have been big in Oz for ages!

Daniel: It was a bit sad because after Michael Hutchence died, we found out that in INXS' 20-year career they only ever won six ARIA awards, and we won ten in one year, and that was weird. Of course, we want to continue for 20 years.

They've sold shed-loads of Albums!

Darren: We've sold three million albums in America alone, and that's a great, great feeling. We've actually sold enough records so that financially I never have to sell another record! I'm not a zillionaire, but we've both bought a house and a car - things that people take a whole lifetime to do. I know how lucky we are.

Daniel: We definitely feel like we've got the upper hand now. We can concentrate on the music, the details...

They're the biggest band in the world

(Well in the southern half, anyway)

Daniel: I guess we might be the biggest band in the southern hemisphere now. But that's kinda like making up awards, like, We're the biggest band with two guys - one with dark hair, one with blond hair.' In fact, I think there's only 12% of the world's population in the southern hemisphere. (Pauses.) Then again, it's still half the world!

Darren: Hahaha! I like that. I'm gonna use that one...
