| The
Sand Island Petroglyphs are one of the few petroglyph panels with drive
up access. It is large panel with hundreds of petroglyphs
spanning thousands of years. A few years ago, Sheila happened to
visit the site when a National Geographic photographer was methodically
taking a series of reverse negative photographs of the entire panel.
Unfortuately we've never seen the photos in the magazine or on their
web site. Click on photos to view larger size |
Sand Island PetroglyphsNote: many of the photos have been digitally enhanced to show the petroglyphs better. |
