Sand Island Petroglyphs, near Bluff

The Sand Island Petroglyphs are one of the few petroglyph panels with drive up access. It is large panel with hundreds of petroglyphs spanning  thousands of years. A few years ago, Sheila happened to visit the site when a National Geographic photographer was methodically taking a series of reverse negative photographs of the entire panel. Unfortuately we've never seen the photos in the magazine or on their web site.
