PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Teaching Experience:
Lecturer at the department of Community Health & Epidemiology, College of Medicine, University of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, SK (Sep 2003 – present).
Teaching Assistant (TA) at McMaster University. (Jan 2003 – April 2003). TA coordinator as well as TA for the Introductory Computer-Aided Statistics. I was also responsible for monitoring discussion on WebCT.
Mentoring (Oct 2000 – Aug 2003): I gave personal tuition to high school, undergraduate and MBA students in Mathematics & Statistics.
TA and Grader at McMaster University (Sep 1996 – Oct 2001). Some of the courses I was a TA for: Business Statistics, Management Science for Calculus for Science students, Operations Modeling with Spread Sheets, Introduction to Operations Management, Quantitative Approaches to Decision Making, Methods for Quality Management, Introductory Computer-Aided Statistics, Probability and Statistical Methods for Science.

Research Experience:
Blood Pressure case study (2003). The goal of the study is to identify the ‘true’ predictors among the 500 variables and, at the same time, control the false discovery rate. Software used: SAS and S-Plus.
Neighbourhood Factors and Children: Hierarchical Linear Models and Small Area Statistics case study (2003). One of the objectives is to study hierarchies in survey data, the relationship between the child outcomes and micro and macro level dependent variables using hierarchical linear models and compare the hierarchical model to traditional regression models. It also involves study of the small area issues, estimate outcomes in areas with sparse individual level data and compare results with methods that do not take into account the small area problem. Software used: SAS.
Study of Voter Preferences for City Councillor (2003): A Survey Sampling Project. Study of the preferences of the voters of ward 1 of the city of Hamilton councillor as well as to study the possible reasons for voting/non-voting and the current issues for the upcoming elections. A sample size of 400 was picked from a population of approximately 10,000 households. Software used: Microsoft Access and Microsoft Excel.
Data Mining case study (2002). The objective of the project was to find the characteristics of the customers who would purchase the product or service if it is offered to them. PCA, PLS as well as CART Analysis was carried out to identify the characteristics of the customers who would respond to the campaign. Software used: SAS, SIMCA-P and S-Plus.
Conducted research as a Ph.D. candidate at the M.G.D. School of Business, McMaster University (1998 - 2001). Software used: Minitab.
Master’s Thesis (1996 - 1998): “Analysis of two server polling system with overlapping skills and limited service”. The main aim of the thesis was to find the optimal division of load in the three queues, i.e. the optimal degree of overlap of skills between the two servers with waiting time in queue as the performance measure. A method was recommended to approximate the mean waiting time in a queue that can be used to determine the optimal allocation of load to the three queues. Software used: FORTRAN and SLAM II.
Master’s Project (1995 - 1996): “The Development of Indian Telecom Sector: The Gap Between demand And Supply and Its Financial Implications”. The demand and supply of the telephone services in India for forecasted using Econometrics methods and found the best financial alternative to meet the demand using the Linear Programming. Software used: RATS (Regression and Time Series) and TORA (Operations research package).

Consulting Experience:
Helped undergraduate students in analyzing the data for their projects (2001 - 2002).
Data Analysis: Patients profiling of chronic pain patients, (2003)
Designed and developed system and programs in Delphi 5 (object oriented) for conducting experiments on Emission Trading at the Department of Economics, McMaster University (2001-02).
Designed a Market Survey questionnaire for a study to improve the effectiveness of Business Improvement Areas in The New City of Hamilton (2001).
Management and Scheduling: I did the scheduling of students for experiments and ensured that enough students were present at the time of the experiment at the Electronic Trading Center, McMaster University (2001).
Developed Data base for Fisher Controls Inc. in Microsoft Access to support their Quality Assurance Program. The database improved the management of the Fisher's Quality Program. It also helped in better identifying the sources of quality problems (2000).
Did Data analysis of primary data for a survey conducted by the Faculty of Health Sciences, McMaster University. The study was conducted to test if the computer based self-answer question system was statistically same as the system of nurse questioning the blood donors (1998).
