1951 in Russia, and received his formal art training at the St. Petersburg Academy of Fine Arts (formerly known as the Leningrad Institute of Art, Sculpture and Architecture), where he studied art history, drawing and painting.
While studying painting, which has always been his primary passion. Mr. Shneyder also worked as a tourist guide and an art critic for several St. Petersburg newspapers.
Mr. Shneyder was one of the founders and the first Chairman of the St. Petersburg Society of Research into the cultural History of Russian Country Estates. He is also honorary member of the presidential counsel of the “Golden bee” International Graphic Design Biennale.
Mr. Shneyder and his family settled in the United States in 1996. Since then he has been associated with the “ZALMAN GALLERY’ Contemporary Russian Paintings & Sculpture which is located on 24 West 57 Street, Suite 303 in New York City, where selected works of Mr. Shneyder can be seen.
Vladimir Shneyder currently resides in New York City with his wife and daughter.
