On the Edge of your Breaking Point by Agonize and Hitokiri Yukihime
I don’t own Dir en grey!! This fiction is a "project" that Hitokiri Yukihime and I are writing. I got the the idea and she is writing it. I added some text and checked the writing.
In the last chapter we gave
you a look at the situation…now from here and on the REAL story
begins! This is kind of the feel of the beginning of something
great ^_^
Chapter two; does it have to be so difficult…
It was a lovely day in Tokyo. The sun shined and the weather was perfect. Not that anyone in Kyo's apartment noticed of course, because of the big, black curtain. Kyo was watching TV and Toshiya were doing 'who knows' in his room.
It was then a scream shattered the air. The sound of Toshiya's scream made Kyo jump out of his sofa and run toward the location of the other man. When Kyo entered Toshiya's room he tripped in the doorway and felt right to the floor. He looked up at his bandmate who was lying on his stomach on the bed with his legs in the air and with a magazine in his hands. “Oh, there you are!” Toshiya said happily, “That was quick”. Kyo was just staring in disbelief. Toshiya held the magazine so Kyo could see from where he was laying on the floor. There was a big picture of Toshiya himself. “I'm pretty, right?” He said with a sugar sweet smile. Kyo did calmly get up from the floor and stomped out of the room without a word. “Yeah, sure! Just be mean, you! Like I care!” Toshiya shouted after him, before muttering “Geez. What's his problem? He didn't even answer”.
Now Kyo was in a reeeealy bad mod. He had been startled, and then it was only Toshiya being stupid again. He could hear Toshiya enter the bathroom through the door on his room. Kyo turned on the music to avoid similar situations to happen again. It didn't last long before the music was accompanied by the neighbour one floor up and one floor under banging in their ceiling and floor to suggest him to shut the fuck up. Toshiya's screaming voice suggested the same, but Kyo couldn't ‘unfortunately’ hear exactly what he said. So after a while Toshiya admitted defeat and let Kyo play his music. Toshiya always used really long time in the bathroom. Kyo found himself wondering about what Toshiya did all that time. He thought about this some time (...) then he began blushing franticly and decided it was best to let it be.
Then Toshiya screamed a real scream of horror. Kyo turned off the music. “What is it?” He shouted, maybe a little frightened. “I-it's horrible,” said Toshiya's voice shakily from the bathroom. “What is it?” Kyo repeated. He was beginning to be angry (and panic wasn't so far away either). “It's no more hairspray”. (...) 'Oh, it's that time a month.' Kyo felt kinda... relieved. “And what am I gonna do about that?” He shouted back, pretending to be angry. The answer was simple: “Go and buy more”. “No way I...”Kyo began before Toshiya cut him off. “You have to go to Kaoru with the laundry anyway. I'll give you a list of what I need”. A sheet of paper was showed under the door. “Why can't you just give it to me?” Kyo wondered. “Because I haven't fixed my hair yet”, was the simple reply. “I've seen you with normal hair a lots of times”, Kyo stated. “That doesn't matter! Just go and buy it”. And with that Toshiya closed the conversation. Kyo couldn't even remember to have agreed to go. “Yes, honey”, Kyo said dryly as he took the laundry and list and went for the outer door. “Don't be long, dear”, Toshiya answered cheerfully. Kyo became a flushing red. He hadn't thought Toshiya had heard him. “Fuck him”, he muttered as he hurried away.
“Oh, you again”, Kaoru said, but held the door open for Kyo. “Sure, who else?” Kyo said flatly as he entered. “Just because no one dares to visit you don't mean I don't get guests”, Kaoru stated. “Yeah, sure. Whatever”, Kyo burst it off. He followed Kaoru into the apartment. “You're earlier than usual. What's the occasion?” Kaoru said jokingly. “Toshiya has his period”. Kaoru tripped on his
own feet and banged his head in a chair. “Excuse me. What did you say?” Kaoru asked unsure, hand still on head. Kyo sighed. “Toshiya is out of hairspray”. To Kyo it looked like realization hit at Kaoru full force, he was sure that Kaoru was hitting himself mentally for being so stupid. Kaoru got up from the floor and showed the way to the bathroom as he muttered something or another.
Kaoru's apartment was larger than Kyo's, but the way it was designed was kind of the same. Except that the hall way was bigger. Kaoru had his washing machine in the bathroom like normal people do, so it was there our Kyo found him self at this very moment. Kaoru was sitting on his knees looking through the basket of cloths Kyo had brought. “Have you practiced on Raison D'etre?” Kaoru asked out of thin air. Kyo then remembered why it wasn't very wise to wash your cloths at your bandleader's place. “Eh... I was going to”. Kaoru shoot him a death glare. The truth was, Kyo really did sit down to practice. But it was no way he would tell Kaoru the reason why he hadn't. It was Toshiya, dressed in a night grown, who walked past the open door too Kyo's room. He had been distracted and forgot the whole thing. Luckily Kyo didn't need to explain this because Kaoru changed the subject. “I can't wash this shirt. It's wine on it. You have to take it to the dry-cleaner”, Kaoru said and threw it to Kyo. “It was Toshiya who drank wine, not me”, Kyo said and looked at the shirt with something like disbelief. 'Toshiya again... How does he manage to make so much fuss when he's not even here?' “It still has to be taken to the dry-cleaner”, Kaoru said and rolled his eyes. He stuffed the rest of the cloths into the washing machine. “But it's so far away”, Kyo complained. “Not my problem. Now get going and stop bugging me”, he said and tried to show Kyo away. Kyo was gritting his teeth and made small growling sounds. Apparently he was thinking about how to dispose of a certain vine-slopping, girly-dressing bandmate. Kaoru managed in some way to get Kyo to the front door without getting his hand bit off. Kyo opened the door, still growling, and looked right at... Die. Die was standing with one hand on the doorbell, apparently about to ring. He looked a little confused. He certainly expected to see someone other than Kyo. Die and Kyo just stared on each other for a while. Then Die laughed a bit nervous to break the stiff atmosphere. 'What's he so nervous about?' Kyo thought, and then turned to Kaoru. “It's true. You do get guests”, he said sarcastic, before making his way past Die, but not without knocking into him a little. He's the type who takes his rage out on others. Die stared after Kyo, and when he was out of earshot (which was not too long) Die looked to Kaoru: “What's his problem?” Kaoru sighed and answered: “Not getting any...”
'Why does the damn dry-cleaner have to be so far away?' Kyo was literally pissed. After walking all the way to the dry-cleaner's he almost forgot to go to the store and had to go back. Now he was walking up the stairs to the apartment, hairspray and stuff in carrier bags. But no matter how pissed he was at the dry-cleaner, he was even more pissed at Toshiya. 'Why the heck do I let him live at my place? Why can't I just throw him out?' This was an unanswered question at the moment. Kyo made it to the apartment. A heavy, dark cloud was hanging over his head (it would be wise to find an umbrella. It looks like it gonna rain). When Kyo opened the door, a familiar, cheerful voice screamed out: “Kyyyo-kuun!”, at last it wasn't Kyo-chan. That's a good thing (maybe it won't rain nevertheless). Kyo stared in disbelief when Toshiya came literally jumping down the corridor. “So nice you're home, I made dinner”. (I think it's missing a line here. Something like: “Darling, I'm home”?) “You made dinner?” Kyo asked almost in shock. “Yeah. I did”, Toshiya answered and smiled sweetly. Kyo was on a loss of words (oh, forget the umbrella. Find some sunglasses). In his seek for something to say, Kyo noticed Toshiya's hair. “You haven't fixed you hair, and still you come out of the bathroom?” he said. Toshiya made a grimace, but smiled. “Ah, I was hungry. Does it look awful?” “No. Your hair is always nice”, the words was out before Kyo could reconsider. Toshiya looked surprised. Kyo now wished to hang himself in his bedroom, just like the former owner had done. “Oh, thank you,” Toshiya said when he came to himself. He may have been a little embarrassed because he hurried to get the dinner. Kyo got the food in the living room. And Toshiya got his «care of the hair», so he was all happy jumping around. Kyo sniffed suspiciously on the rice. 'Could it be poisoned?' Now Toshiya had settled down and watched Kyo carefully. “Aren't you going to eat it?” Toshiya asked sweetly, maybe too sweetly for Kyo's taste. Now Toshiya tried the puppy-eyes too. “Pleeeas”. And with that it was done. Kyo put the chopsticks in his mouth and... The next scene doesn't need much explanation really. It was a lot of coughing and stuff, and Toshiya laughed his head off. “It's awful! And you knew it!” Kyo shouted (maybe an umbrella wasn't a bad choose after all). “Of course! I can't cook!” Toshiya said still laughing. “Then why the fuck did you make dinner in the first place?!” (It's raining cats and dogs. Indeed). “I was hungry. And the phone was broken so I couldn't call for fast-food... And I needed a test object”. Toshiya smirked like crazy. He was sure Kyo would be even madder now, so he held for his ears and prepared for some more shouting, but Kyo only stared blankly. Then Toshiya became a little nervous. “Why... is... the... phone... broken...?” Kyo said slowly in an ice cold voice (it's snowing. Geez. Strange weather-.-‘) “I-it was an accident! I swear! I...” but Toshiya didn't get to say anymore because Kyo turned and left for his room. Back in the living room was an oddly stiff Toshiya. 'Did I say something wrong?' he wondered. But then he had to smile. 'It was worth it. He's so cute when he gets angry.'
Kyo sat alone in his dark room leaned against the door. Now he remembered why they began eating fast-food. He tried to smile, but he couldn't, even if he didn't feel angry or sad. Whatever happened, he could never be really mad at Toshiya. He only felt empty. 'Why does it have to be so difficult?' He sighed. 'Toshiya...'
