Chapter 2: Who is He that I Love?

The Villa, 1 am.

“ So how was school today, Toshiya?”

“ It was good, met a couple of new guys who were lovely…the guy that Akira recommended was really helpful and he showed me around most of the places so I didn’t get lost…”

“ Good then…you were always one without directions….” The elder man pinched the young one’s nose making the young one snuggle closer toward the body beside him to dodge further pinches.

“ How did shopping went after that?”

“ I bought a couple of new clothes, some casual ones so that I can wear when I hang out with my friends….”

“ Ya noe, Toshiya…hanging out is all good, but you must always remember, never to let anyone touch you or get too close to you…never forget who you really are…”

The younger one smiled and hugged the older one tightly.

“ Don’t worry, I will always be yours…I will always be beside you….I love you…”

“ I love you too, honey….”

Kaoru and Shinya’s Apartment, 7 am.

“ Aniki…breakfast is ready…”

“ Hai…let me grab my coat first…”

“ Are you going to the store with me tonight?”

“ Hai…I can’t let my precious little brother be wandering around the streets all by himself at night, can I?”

“ Oh you worry too much, if you’re busy, you don’t have to come…I will be fine myself.”

“ Nah…I need to get something anyway…by the way, I told Toshiya that I will bring him to the store as well because he said he wanted to have a look at how the local shops are.”

“ That’s weird, aren’t there anything similar from where he came from?”

“ Well I felt that too…somehow in the last couple of days when I have been with him, it feels as if many simple things seems a great deal of interest to him…and he seems a lot more innocent for someone his age and there is something…”

“ What?”

“ Somehow, all the teachers seems to be very tense around him and treats him with special attention and care as if he was from a respected family…however, the weirdest part of it is that he is not registered anywhere in the register database and there is no record of where he came from and what his family background was….when Nagisa-sensei introduced him to me…he was only being introduced using his first name- Toshiya…which technically is quite rude considering it was out first meeting…”

“ That IS weird…”

“ Somehow I think Toshiya’s background isn’t as simple as it seems…and the whole secrecy just makes it more apparent…”

As agreed, Kaoru was to bring Toshiya around to the nearby stores to do some grocery shopping together with Kaoru’s brother, Shinya. Along came the unexpected and uninvited one as well- Die.

“ Shin- chan…this is Toshiya, he is also in the first year as well.”

“ Shinya desu, nice to meet you.”

“ Toshiya desu, nice to meet you too.”

“ I hear that you major in design, how are you finding it so far?”

“ So far so good, the teachers are nice to me, the subjects are pretty interesting as well, though I’m bit slow in understanding some of the terminology…I have never been very good with big words….hahahaha…”

“ Well, Shinya is majoring in music and at times he struggles with all the notes as well…eh, Shin-chan…? He use to get all the sharps and the flats mixed up and boy was it hell when he started to compose music the first time…I thought I was to go deaf…” Die teased, earning a glare from Shinya.

“ Hahaha….it looks like I don’t have to worry then…” Toshiya laugh cutely while Die move closer to hug him.

“ You always have me to help you if you need it, I must say I draw a very good stickman….hahahahaha…..”

Toshiya laughed even more when Kaoru harshly pulled Die away from him, almost making Die fall back on the ground. Die cursed and Kaoru cursed back earning more laughter from the two younger ones.

As the four men were approaching the store and group of men clad in leather walked pass quickly almost knocking over Shinya and Toshiya.

“ Oi…watch where you are going!!!!! Brats!” One of the men shouted angrily.

“ Shin-chan…daijyoubu?”

“ Toshiya, are you hurt?”

Toshiya rubbed his shoulders and he winced silently. The impact of the knock was quite harsh considering how slender his frame was.

“ I’m fine, that man was heading right for Toshiya…not me…” Shinya answered while trying to stand back on his feet.

Die furiously glared at the group of men and his teeth was clenched in anger while Kaoru held Shinya close in fear that the men will attack him again.

“ What are you guys looking at?!!!!! What a bunch of weaklings!!!!!!”

“ Yeah….little kids should go home now…go back to mummy…..go now……hahahahahahaha…….”

Die was about to burst in anger when a pair of cold hands enveloped his fist. Toshiya shook his head.

“ They’re not worth it, Die- senpai…just let it go…”

“ But….”

“ Men like these are just bringing death upon themselves and they fasten their death sentence by their own foolish actions…there is no need for us to get our hands dirty over them…”

“ Hey what are talking about, brat!!!!!!! I DARE YOU TO SAY THAT AGAIN!!!!!!”

“ Let’s just teach the girly twat some lesson….!!!!!”

Before anyone could react to anything, one of the stronger man had already landed a fist across Toshiya’s face, making the younger one fall to the ground again. His coat had slipped slightly from his shoulders when he fell and revealed a pair of black angelic wings tattoo. Toshiya immediately covered it up so that no one else would see it and thankfully no one did except the man who had just hit him.

“ You are…”

The huge man immediately knelt down and begged for forgiveness, somehow the rage that was on his face moments ago had now turned into somewhat a horrific fear as if he was going to die if Toshiya didn’t forgive him.

Toshiya knelt down beside the man and held his head up and smiled.

“ Hey, I forgive you…it will be our little secret…”

The man nodded his head and he ordered all the other men to leave the place immediately.

“ What a night….!!!!” Toshiya exclaimed loudly.

Die pulled Toshiya close and examined the bloody patch that had formed at the corner of his mouth and face from the impact of the punch.

“ You’re bleeding….”

“ I bit myself when that punch came….using Die-senpai’s words “it’s nothing I’m not used to” But I will be fine…remind me to get some plasters at the store later ne, Die- senpai…” Toshiya smiled innocently.

Die immediately hugged the younger one tightly.

“ You stupid idiot!!!!!!! There you were saying they were not worth it and then you go ahead and say something to annoy and got yourself beaten up….don’t do something so reckless when you can’t even defend yourself!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

Toshiya allowed Die to hug him and for a brief second, he hugged back. Toshiya could feel that Die was truly worried when that huge man raised his fist, something worse could have happen and he has acted recklessly.

“ I’m sorry for making you worry, Die- senpai…”

Kaoru and Shinya were witnessing all this while, it made them realized something beside Die’s new found affection for the younger one but also the fact that Toshiya possessed something a lot darker than what they had in mind. It was not definitely just the fact that Toshiya was still able to stand after that blow but also the fact Toshiya made the man who hit him begged for forgiveness that made Toshiya a less innocent being than how he portrays himself to be and this made Kaoru and Shinya felt uneasy about it.
