Chapter 4

 

Shinya twirled the piece of paper in his hand 'This time I wont let him rip it! I will not tell him about it again'

He rose from the sofa and walked to the bedroom, he opened the small drawer in the night stand and put the paper there 'He will not find it here, we have all the important papers here' He closed the drawer and went to the kitchen to prepare lunch.

 

A few minutes later the phone rang, and Shinya answered it. "Hello? Toshiya! Yeah I'm fine, just making lunch".  He walked to the kitchen again and stirred a spoon inside the cooking pot as he spoke with Toshiya.  He added some salt as he kept stirring it.  At this time Die opened the front door, he threw his car keys on a nearby table and walked to the living room, he sat on the sofa with his eyes closed and let out  a long sigh, he then looked at the table beside him, he groaned and looked at the other table 'where did the note go!'

He rose from the sofa and walked towards the kitchen, Shinya was blabbing with Toshiya.

 

"Yeah I did read about that, ah the dress..? Yes, yes, I told him that… No the movie was boring... I know that!! Die didn’t like that dish..! Oh the bed sheets are green! No way" Shinya giggled and added the vegetables to the pot.

Die sighed and scowled "Shinya...."

Shinya turned and saw Die "Oh Toshiya wait a minute, yes honey what do you want?"

 

Die pointed at the table where the phone was placed on "There was a small note which had an important number on it... where is it?"

 

Shinya rolled his eyes "You know where we place all the important notes and papers Die!" He turned and added some spice to the food "Yes Toshiya, what were you saying?"

 

Die puffed and walk to the bedroom; he sat on the bed and opened the small drawer in the night stand harshly. He flip through the notes and papers inside the drawer, reading whatever he thought was the note he wrote, also there were some interesting advertisements he collected before, such as the car he wanted to buy, but his eyes widened when he saw a certain advertisement, his eyes narrowed and then he stormed to the kitchen.

 

Shinya was still chatting with Toshiya about everything.

"Which brand?  Oh that’s nice!" Shinya beamed "Tell me, should I add some pepper? Okay!" He added pepper to the food as he kept on stirring it. Die came and stood beside him, Shinya looked at him as he was listening to what Toshiya told him through the receiver.  He saw Die's scowling face, which meant that something bad was going to happen.  When Die held up his hand with the piece of newspaper in it Shinya gasped and looked at the pot in front of him not saying anything, Toshiya asked him what was wrong, but he didn’t answer, Die crumpled the paper into a ball and threw it in the pot.

Shinya gasped again and look at Die who was scowling and walking out of the kitchen; Shinya groaned and turned the stove off.  "Toshiya I will call you later.”  He said with pout.

"If you have any problem with him call me again, I would come and help." Toshiya offered worriedly.

"Thank you, I will call you later." Shinya hung up the phone and walked to the living room, seeing that Die was about to wear his shoes.

 

"Where are you going??" Shinya asked bitterly

Die didn’t answer him as he put on the other shoe, and then looked at himself in the mirror, he extended his hand to take the car keys but Shinya snatched them before him, Die glared at Shinya, as the other glared back at him equally.

 

"Why do you want to go?" Shinya asked again.

 

"Why would I stay?"

 

"I… Why do you want to go~? Stay here..."

 

"It’s not like I have anything to do here!"

 

Shinya raised an eyebrow looking at Die.

 

“You didn’t have lunch, and it was spoiled."

 

Shinya bit his lips as Die complete

 

"Also, I don’t like it when you ask me where I come from or go!"

 

"You always go out and leave me alone in this house!!"

 

"I told you to go to Toshiya"

 

"I don’t want Toshiya!! Die~~~"

 

"Shut up will you?"

 

Shinya pouted and looked away... "A-are you going to your -friend-?"

 

Die sighed "Yes I am --"

 

"WHY????" Shinya cut him off.  "Why do you always go there? Who is he... or she...?" He asked, taking aware of Die's look

 

Die looked at the floor then stretched out his hand.  "Give me the keys"

 

"No"

 

"Give me the keys."  Die said in a firm voice. 

 

"I said no."  Shinya cried out.

 

Die tried so hard to keep calm.  "What’s wrong with you?  Do you think that I’m cheating on you?"

 

"You said it Die… YES. I. AM.”  He said between his clenched teeth, glaring at Die.

 

Die looked so annoyed after hearing Shinya's words, he snatched the keys from Shinya's hand harshly and turned to walk off, but Shinya's voice stopped him.

 

"Stop!!  Onegai... Tell me who this friend of yours is so when I need something I can call..."

 

Die snorted.  "Why don’t you call my cell?"

 

"Because you don’t answer my calls, Die!  I always try to call you but… you don’t pick up...” He said looking at the floor.

 

Die sighed and opened the entrance door.

 

"Die!!!  Please!!" he sank to his knees.

 

"Shut up Shinya!  You are giving me headache!" Die growled

 

Shinya's eyes widened and his mouth gaped.  'Die hates me...'  When Die closed the door Shinya scowled and took the nearest shoe and threw it at the door.

 

Die was standing in front of the elevator when he heard the bang and sighed, he knew that Shinya would do something like this.  'For how long do I have to deal with this...?’ He thought sadly.  The elevator door opened, he stepped in and chose the first floor and the door closed.

 

Shinya was sitting on the sofa fuming.  'How could he!!!  He is so mean!’  He looked at the phone beside him; he held the receiver and dialed Toshiya's number.

 

"Moshi moshi."  The other voice in the receiver started.

 

"Toshiya....." Shinya said in small voice.

 

"Shinya..?"

 

Shinya spoke but his sobs cracked his voice.

 

"Wait, wait, Shinya I can’t understand anything!  Whats wrong?"

 

Shinya sniffed "Die..."

 

"What’s wrong with him..?"

 

"He… he… I want to go over now and talk about it"

 

"..... Now..?" Toshiya sounded confused.

 

"Yes now... I can’t stay here.  I want to go out."

 

"Um... well... Ok.  I will wait you."

 

They said good bye and hung up the phone but something clicked in Shinya's mind, he narrowed his eyes and looked at the phone.  He took the receiver again and dialed Toshiya number.

 

"Moshi moshi."

 

"Anou... Toshiya... I changed my mind… I will go over in about 15 minutes, I just remembered that I had to do something first."

 

"Ah okay!! I will wait for you." Toshiya said in happy tone and Shinya narrowed his eyes.

 

When he hung up the phone again he quickly walked to the bedroom, took his coat and walked out of the apartment heading to Toshiya's building.

 

Shinya was lucky that Toshiya lived in a building next to his.  He reached his apartment and rang the door bell; he heard muffled sounds and foot steps approaching the door.  Toshiya opened the door, his eyes widened when he saw Shinya's blank face.

 

"Y-you said you will come after fifteen --" Toshiya started but he cut off by Shinya who shoved him aside

 

"Where is he????"  Shinya demand and Toshiya blinked, Shinya looked so irritated and repeated himself again.  "I said where he is??  I know he is here, get out of my way."  He pushed Toshiya aside once again and stormed inside the house. "I'm sure he is here I’m very sure h--" Shinya cut off, his eyes widened; he regained his senses quickly then turned and looked away, blushing.

Kaoru was sitting on the sofa with an eyebrow raised at Shinya's behavior, Toshiya walked and stood beside Shinya.  He looked at him and then Kaoru, then looked at Shinya again.  "Shinya-chan what’s wrong..?"

 

Shinya bit his lips and looked down at the floor, he felt so embarrassed.

 

Twenty minutes later, Shinya told Toshiya and Kaoru about what was going on between him and Die, and how Die always leave him in the same hours everyday, also how he treated him the last few days, he didn’t tell them about the hospital or that he wanted to have a child, he only told them about the little girl Miyu and how he wanted her but they didn’t allow them to adopt her because he and Die were a gay couple.  He then told them how Die left him today.

 

Toshiya wrap his arms around Shinya "That’s really bad!!!!! You should do something about it!  Not leave him playing behind you and you just sit here crying!!!!!!  If I were you I would leave the house."  Shinya looked at his friend not believing what he just said, Toshiya nodded.  "Yes leave the house; I'm sure he’s got a girlfriend… or another boyfriend maybe!!!"

 

"Toshiya!"  Kaoru said with a glare at his boyfriend.

 

"It’s true Kaoru!  I know it’s true!!" Toshiya said and Shinya looked at the floor. Kaoru made a sign to Toshiya for him to be quiet, Toshiya huffed and looked away.

 

"Shinya… Do you want me to speak with him..?"  Kaoru offered calmly.

 

Shinya was confused for moment.  “.. Speak with him about what..?  I don’t want to have another argument with him...” He looked at the floor biting his lips.

 

"If he argues with you again, tell me and I will show you what I can do!!!" Toshiya sounded so irritated.

 

"Toshiya..." Kaoru sighed then continued.  "Shinya, you said he go to his –friend’s- house, who is this -friend-?"

 

"I don’t know... he doesn’t want to tell me..."

 

Kaoru raised an eyebrow.  "Well… his friends are my friends too; I will call him and ask him if you want?"

 

"He doesn’t answer my calls..." Shinya sounded dejected.

 

"...I will call him now."  Kaoru took out his cell and dialed Die's number, he immediately got a message saying that the number he dialed couldn’t be reached now.

 

Kaoru looked at Shinya whom was pouting and looking at the floor.

 

"Of course he will turn off his cell when he’s with her!  Shinya he is cheating on you!!!"  Toshiya said while shaking Shinya.

 

Kaoru sighed and Shinya groaned.  "Toshiya~ don’t remind me of that every minute..." He covered his face with his palms.

Toshiya bit his nails and hugged Shinya.  "Awwww, Shin-chan, I didn’t mean that... Hmm, you can stay here, right Kaoru?"

 

Kaoru thought for a moment then spoke up.  "I’ll go and look around, I'm sure he is in one of our friends’ houses, don’t worry Shinya."

 

Shinya nodded, Kaoru walked out of the house closing the door behind him.

 

Toshiya looked at Shinya "Ne, Shin-chan!  Please smile!"  He poked the other man. "Come on, I miss your smile!!"  He whined.

 

Shinya smiled at Toshiya's childish behavior.

 

"Yes!!  You look so good while smiling.  Come on, let’s do something fun."  He thought for a while then clapped his hands in delight.  "How about we chat on the internet???"  He asked eagerly, Shinya only nodded, he knew how much Toshiya loved to chat.

 

They sat in front of the computer; Shinya looked at the screen as Toshiya told him where to click and where to go.

"Shin-chan, look!  This site is the best!!  Let me write it, hmmm….www.chitchat-kitkat-donut.morethanthat.com.”  He mumbled while writing it.  “Oh you know… I always go to milkshake room!  It’s the best.”  He beamed and looked at Shinya, the other only nodded and looked at Toshiya as he typed and laughed, an idea clicked in his mind.

 

"Anou… Toshiya I'm hungry."  Shinya trailed off.

 

Toshiya looked at him.  "Oh, Okay I will make you some sandwiches!!"  He smiled and walked to the kitchen.  "I won’t be long." He added before he vanished into the kitchen.

 

Shinya quickly turned to the computer; he opened a new Internet window and typed in   He was lucky that he memorized the site name.  On the front page he saw the banner of the site and read it out loud.  'Are you sitting home with nothing to do? Are you eager to do something new? Visit Doctor Kyo.' Shinya raised an eyebrow and clicked on the banner. http://www.wantyoutowantme.helpme.8m.com He looked for the hospital number, he saw another banner.  ‘Rare to find… Good when found…'  He clicked on it but found out that it was the information page, he clicked back in the browser and then found a small banner in the left, he clicked on it then sighed, and it was the contact page.

 

Shinya looked at the computer table for any paper and pen, he saw a piece of paper aside with a pencil beside it, he snatched it up and wrote the numbers down with some extensions, and then quickly shoved the note inside his pocket, then closed the page.

 

Toshiya came back holding a tray.  "Here is your sandwich, Shin-chan.  I even made you lemon juice mixed with peppermint.  It will make you relax."  He said with wide smile.

"I see, thank you very much…" Kaoru said and closed his cell.  He leaned on the car wheel.  'Die, where are you?  I called everyone and they said you are not with them...’ He dialed Die's cell number again, this time it worked, Die’s voice came from the other line, and Kaoru quickly spoke in firm voice.  "Die, where are you?"
