The Columbine is the state flower of Colorado. I found these blooming on the Grand Mesa.
This Inn is in the Painted Desert Nationl Park In Arizona. At one time it was a working Inn, now it's a veiw area at the Park . 
This "Window" is just a few miles east of Zuni. I was very taken with the beauty of this formation.
One of the many castles in Germany. This one is unusual because it sits in the middle of the Rhine River. At one time it was used as a place to string chains across the river and force boats traveling the Rhine to pay a toll.
Near Moab Utah is an area called Castle Valley. At the east end of the Valley is this formation called Fishers Towers. One plesant Spring day several of us, including our son Thomas who was about 18 months old, hiked the trail around the towers. The view was spectular and worth every step.
