Normals

Normal Budgerigars come in the following variety of colours.

Greens (Green, Laurel, Olive & Greygreen).

Blues (Skyblue, Cobalt, Mauve & Violet).

Opalines

Opalines are recognised by the extension of their ground colour over the back of their head which leaves a "V" effect between the top of the wings.

Opalines come in many varieties including Normal Wing, Cinnamon Wing, Grey Wing, Clear Wing and Fallow.

Cinnamon Wing

Cinnamon Wing budgies are recognised by the cinnamon colour markings on their cheeks, spots, back of the head and wings.

Grey Wing

Grey wings are recognisable by the same markings as the cinnamon wing varieties. As implied by the name the markings are a grey colour.

Spangled Wing

The best way to identify a spangled wing budgie is by the black outline on all wing feathers.

Lace Wing

Lace wings come in white and yellow colour and also in the opaline variety.

They are the same as Albino and Lutino budgies but have cinnamon markings.

The cere on the cock birds are a fleshy colour.

Fallow

Fallow budgies come in green and blue varieties.

They have red eyes and their markings are dark brown in colour.

Yellow Faced Blue

This variety is the same as the normals except the face is yellow instead of white.

Yellow face budgies are available in blue and grey and also in the different wing varieties.

Dominant Pied

Dominant Pieds show an area of yellow or green on their wings.

Some have bands across their bodies.

Recessive Pied

Recessive pied budgies have a varigated colour through their wings and body.

They come in blue and green colours.

Albino

Albinos are pure white birds that do not show any markings what so ever.

Crested
