Void is a small, New York-based online and print music zine. Try saying all of that in a sentence really fast. Void started as far back as July 2004, but nobody even remotely knew about its existence for nine months. The first version of Void was small and only partially finished, with a garish blue background and a web-design-for-dumbfucks layout. All hope in Void was abandoned, and the site layed dormant in cyberspace until it was picked up again in March 2005. Void's first official issue came out that April.
At some point, it became cool to write about bands like music was obsolete. There are music magazines that, strangely enough, barely write about music anymore. We exist because there are people in the world who love music as much as we do. People who get excited when they turn on an album for the first time, people who feel a thrill inside when they are learning about a band or artist, people who memorize their favorite lyrics and scribble them on their schoolnotes or papers at work. It's that passion, that love of music, that inspires more issues of Void.
These are our first two flyers. They're as DIY as it gets. Click on them if you want to see larger versions.
