Game One: Louis / Skaven / Jail Break
A very comp friendly Skaven list and a hell of a nice guy. No ratling
guns, 6 lvls magic, no flame cannon. He put my Eagles in the Jail
and I put six of his shooters in. A very good game that was really
decided by two things: Silver Helm charge on his big, nasty Ogre
unit - SIlver Helms hit and the Ogres didn't - they broke and got run
down on turn two! And then his poor skaven couldn't pass a break,
panic or rally test to save their lives. The Eagles were finally
freed on turn five, and we ran out of time without playing a 6th
turn. Victory for the Silver Song.
Game Two: Kyle / Mortal, Khorne, Chaos / Messenger
This was a hard, hard list. Chosen knights, Chosen warriors, Lord w/
Dragon and a Shaggoth. I got eaten - lost around 60-70% to Kyle's 20-
30%, but he got the blood rage and I suspect lost sight of the
scenerio. Should have gone for my messengers and/or screened his
own. Instead he ignored mine untill turn three and ran all of his up
one side without a screen and very little support (six furies and
nothing else). I killed all his messengers (one to shooting and two
in close combat) and got one of mine across. Not many Elves left to
celebrate, but still a victory.
Game Three: ??? / Nurgle Demon / Capture
What was this!!! A Demon army!!! Very cool and very themed list.
He was a strong player and his list was tougher than I expected.
That combined with some terrible leadership checks (on one turn I
missed 5 out of 6 panic, terror and rally tests, on a leadership
eight or better). In all fairness, I would have still lost, but at
least I might have made it a closer game with average rolling. As it
was, I just got my teeth kicked-in. Some minor rules disputes, but
we both kept it civil and were willing to compromise.
Overall - I enjoyed all three games and had a great time.
Thanks to all the players and organizers!!!!!
