The United Kingdom made a comeback in '59 with the jolly ditty "Sing Little Birdie", and acheived their first of 15 second places. For the second time in 4 years, the Netherlands won the Grand Prix, but 1959 ended the sequence of alphabetical winners !!. So far Assis had won in '56, Brokken in '57, and Claveau in '58.
