The Netherlands set a new record in 1966 by entering the first ever black performer, Milly Scott, who came in 2nd, singing about 2 Mexicans, who appeared on stage wearing ponchos and guitars. The United Kingdom opted for Kenneth Mckellar, who was the first person to wear a kilt in Eurovision. Unfortunately the cultural option didn't pay off, as Kenneth achieved the lowest position for the United Kingdom to date.
