1980 saw the first solo male vocalist win since 1966, when Johnny Logan took the title for the first time (He came back to win again 7 years later). The song titles were getting less imaginative around this time, and the only song called "Eurovision" was part of this trend. They were up against Germany's "Theater" and Switzerlands "Cinema", with the French saying "Hello", Austria saying "You Are Music", the Danes saying "Thank You", and the Greeks just saying "Stop". 1980 also saw the only ever African entry from Morocco. They took part due to Israel not competing, came second to last, and never tried again.
