For the second year running, the country to perform last took the title, allthough the result wasn't as clear cut as 1982. The voting was extremely slow as the hostess repeated all the scores in 3 languages, German, French, and English, instead of the usual 2. The voting was unusual for another reason also. 8 of the 20 countries received the top vote of 12 points, but no two countries gave each other the top score.
