Another record was to be set in 1986, when Eurovision moved to the most northerly location so far. To celebrate the contest being held in Scandinavia for the 2nd year running, Iceland made their debut. If Norway had been patient by waiting 25 years before winning, feel sorry for the Belgians, who being part of the original line-up, had waited 30 years to claim victory. 1986 saw the first ever language hatrick, when the top 3 songs were all sung in French. This has only happened once since, when in 1992, the top 3 were all sung in English.
