WINNING SONG TITLE PERFORMER COUNTRY COMPOSERS
Hold Me Now Johnny Logan Ireland Johnny Logan

In 1987, Johnny Logan became the first person to ever win Eurovision twice, a feat which he extended in 1992, when he wrote the winning song for Ireland, taking his tally to three wins. Strangely enough, the act that came second (Wind, from Germany), had finished second two years earlier, and so the 1st and 2nd positions in 1987, were taken by acts who had previously achieved 1st and 2nd places. This contest was the worst ever for the United Kingdom, as their entry, Rikki, obtained only 13th place, the lowest position to date, and only the second time the nation had finished outside the top 10.
