WINNING SONG TITLE PERFORMER COUNTRY COMPOSERS
The Voice Eimear Quinn Ireland Brendan Graham

Ireland were back to their winning ways, setting new records on the way. It was their 7th win in all, and the 4th in 5 years. The United Kingdom offered a pop song by an Australian singer, the second Australian to represent the country (Olivia Newton-John being the first), and although it only came 8th in the contest, it was a huge worldwide hit, reaching number 1 in Britain, and the American top 20.
