Holy Matrimony, Batman!
Dozens of extras were present at this location. They waited at their positions until action was called. Then they walked down the street at a brisk pace, crossing the intersection in pursuit of the Bachelor (Chris O'Donnell). That's the end of the scene for them. They repeated this scene a few times.

 
 
Soooooo Many Brides !!
It was a rather chilly day and the extras were given silver jackets that appeared to be made of.... mylar?.... to keep them warm between takes.  But when the cameras rolled, some of the brides shivered - not from nerves, but from the cold. 
Extras Walking Back
The bride on the left seems to be overtaken with emotion. 
Or she has something in her eye.
