  • Message from Vaughan
    Hello Everyone,
    Vaughan here. It’s been a wacky month for Vonray. I got the word that Elektra has officially let the band go. This is not a big surprise to me and others on the inside since the label just pretty much stopped all promotion for the band about six months ago. It’s a fickle, “here today, gone later today” business, especially in the pop arena. I am really glad to have my life back and to have all the debt off my shoulders but I will miss all the friends we’ve gained along the way. You guys have made this awesome ride truly special and something I’ll never forget. Although there are talks of regaining our masters, offers to resign to another label, and generally moving on using the momentum we’ve gained with Elektra, I’ve elected to stop performing and pushing the Vonray band. I know it sounds strange, but it’s something I enjoy the thought of. I must admit I have grown to really dislike this business; at least the business side of it all. Heck, the only thing I really enjoy is the 45 minutes on stage. With the connections gained in New York and Nashville with publishing houses, I look forward to writing songs for others in many genres of music. I’ll never stop writing songs. I guess what I’m saying is, that’s the area I’m going to concentrate my musical efforts.
    Thank you all for the love and support you have shown over the last however-many years. I have enjoyed gaining new friends through the music and being able to share parts of myself with all of you. I feel so blessed to have experienced that on such a level. Times during this musical journey may very well be some of the fondest memories of my life. The beauty of it all is, you guys have all the music. no one can ever take that away from any of us. It doesn’t fade or diminish. You slip it in your cd player ten years from now and that old Drinker’s Hour or Part of Me or Inside Out can take you back. It’ll never completely disappear. Thank you for making Vonray one of your favorites. It means the world to me.
    I have decided to cancel all shows for now. Dave is not able to come over due to his work schedule in Oklahoma City, and Jeff is out on tour with another band, because the boy is gifted and it’s part of his being. With half a band I just can’t bring myself to do any home town shows. I hope you all understand. And for all who have bought tickets for the game, enjoy yourselves. I am considering another show right inside the new year as kind of a farewell show. Let me know what you think.
    It’s all good, folks. Like I said, I really enjoy the thought of chilling out musically, writing with no pressure, hanging with my family and not worrying about the next time I have to leave for 4 weeks at a time on tour. What a run though! Inside Out as of now has been spun 100,000+ times nationwide, went to #31 on the top forty and has provided a cool income for the family. I couldn’t ask for more.
    Thank you all.
    Without a doubt the thing I will miss the most, and it pains me to see fade, is the band itself. Although we’ll continue to work together on songwriting here and there, and Dave and I will continue to write together over the internet, it just won’t be the same. I’ve been lucky to work with such a great bunch of guys. An unbelievable synergy on and off the stage. Dave, Jeff, Garrett, Paul and Brian. They are some of the greatest people I’ve ever met . They are some of the most talented people I’ve ever worked with. I’m so glad I can call them friends and brothers.
    I’ll be back on the message board soon. It’s not going anywhere. We’ll keep it up as a means for you guys to discuss whatever and stay in touch. Much love to all!

    VonRay has just been confirmed as the exclusive half time entertainment for this year's Citrus Bowl in Orlando. The Capital One Citrus Bowl features college football teams from the SEC and Big East and has sold out of tickets the past few years with 70,000 fans. ABC-tv covers this daytime show to an estimated 12 million viewers and VonRay will perform the songs (at the Citrus Bowl's request) 'Inside Out', 'Fame', and 'Part of Me'. There will be fireworks and x-games will also compliment the event for halftime while the announcers of ABC introduce the act live.

    They are going to be filming the video for "Ill show you" they are awaiting an official date from hard rock for the live show..either june 9, 10, or 11th will be the date for live footage, Joe Charbanic will be directing the video. Joe was the director for the movie The Watcher w/ Keanu Reeves and has shot videos with 311, Mary J, and many others. Joe is flying in from LA to shoot the video. Special guests in the video will be Chantille from the 'Are You Hot' tv show on ABC-tv. She is also going to be in Maxim Magazine this July/August, a VERY special guest is awaiting to be announced, but we can't leak that news yet, it is a HUGE name that will be playing the part of an older man looking over his life during the video.

    ABC-TV & it's affiliates will be airing 'I'll Show You' as part of their commericial spots starting this Thursday and running for 1 week. Also, the day of show, they will also include I'll Show You on all nationwide radio commercials, too. ABC has offered to use the song for many different occasions including possibly General Hospital and other daytime/nighttime shows.
