RV trip to northern California, June 2003

In June the Voogel family rented a 25 foot RV and took a 10 day trip on the road. Driving was quite challenging, especially on highway 1. On day 2 we already smashed our right side mirror on a narrow windy section of 1 with rocks and trees on the right side. Martin had to choose between oncoming traffic or the trees J.

Fortunately, a glass & mirror shop in Ft Bragg was able to cut us a piece of mirror to the exact size needed for only $10. Another $2 for a roll duct tape and we were back in business.

Martin trying to get used to driving the monster vehicle.                      Wow, that Golden Gate is narrow!!

Good views of San Francisco.

Anna immediately felt at home in the RV. She spent most of her time at the dashboard playing with our mobile phones and sunglasses.

Mommy with the backpack.                                                Smores are very sticky on baby hands we learned.

Hiking along the river bank right by our campsite.

Lots of giant redwood trees in Jedediah Smith State Park.

They were tall….

Waterfun!!

One night we camped right on the beach. All night we heard crashing waves on one side of the RV and on the other side… frogs!

Just in time to watch the sunset.
