Scripts, Macros, Hotkeys, Fun:

How to make a Macro Script for ShadowBane:

For completeness's sake, here is a link to a description of each social with accompanying picture.

Hotkeys

Hotkeys can be created easily by Ctrl + Left Clicking on the selection or button in the command window. As long as it is a single command option a window will open with the following options:

Activate
Assign Hotkey
Destroy

There is a secondary way to create hotkeys quickly and easily as well. In the command window, settings and hotkeys are the choices in that order. A new window will open showing all of the current set hotkeys as well as all the available options for creating hotkeys and macros.

There are many buttons down the side of this new window that will give access to setting hotkeys by type as well as other commands.

General Key Bindings
Bind Socials
Bind Powers
Bind Macros

Import Keys

--p.27, Shadowbane Official Strategy Guide by John Henderson and Danielle Vanderlip; I do not find any further quoting of their instructions more useful than fiddling with the game interface itself. However, it is perhaps worth noting that in binding a Power to a key, it is possible (perhaps necessary) to specify the rank (which must be one to which the character has progessed) at which the Power is used, and that this was thought to be a potential way of regulating the amount of stamina or mana used in combat. (As you can tell, I haven't tried this kind of hotkey yet.)

One Macro I've found very useful for roleplaying has been the one, mapped to "Alt + E"1, which has the effect of typing in "/em " (Slash, e, m, and space) on my chat bar without including "enter" (as if I'd pressed the "Enter" key) at the end; this prefixes the action I want to do with the proper command for performing an emote. For example, to emote "Vorona smirks mischievously", all I need to type is [Alt + e] smirks mischievously., without finding that I've once again typed "/me" at the beginning (out of IRC habit) or forgotten to hit the spacebar after the 'm' or typed in "/en" instead, etc.. A small thing, but it saves my temper and eases my character's expression in the long run. To keep a Macro from including the "enter" function, click the appropriate toggling bubble in the creation window. (Okay, a small picture here would be worth 50 more words; I'll try to come up with one.)
