Is Good! is Megadeth’s first album, released in
1985 on Combat Records. Some newer versions of the album do not feature
the song “These Boots.” This album also features the first Megadeth
logo, written in a fancy script. It really isn’t a logo, just as
on Cryptic Writings, it is written in the style of the album’s title.
The title is also in script, the first half of the title on the front cover,
the second on the back of the CD case/LP sleeve. The cover has to do with
the song “The Skull Beneath The Skin.” Read the lyrics between “Hellpp
mmmeeeeee” and the first “The skull beneath the skin” for the description.
It is about taking a person’s disembodied head, peeling off all the skin,
and covering the “eyes,” “ears,” and “mouth,” so it cannot “see,” “hear,”
or “scream.” It looks like the head of Vic Rattlehead, and it is,
before it became Vic Rattlehead.
