Very interesting...

There are two significant technicalities that some of you will be interested in:

  • First, this election is meaningless, because there isn't a vacancy to fill. This is thanks to an inept amendment to the University Act which came into effect April 1, 2005.
  • Second, there was a fairly substantial loophole involved in getting my name on the ballot at all. Follow that link for information on the loophole and the consequences if I'm actually elected.

Visit http://www.ams.ubc.ca/elections January 21-25 to vote online, or bring your student card January 27 and vote the old-fashioned way. But vote -- somebody has to.
