Hard Rock Cafe Newsletter, November 2001 By Jesse Dracman

Its rare that you find an Australian act that's unsigned and possess the 'right
stuff'. Jerk are an Industrial/ Metal act that have this and are
on the rise! I spoke to Lamar (Drummer/programmer) and Johnathan
(Singer/guitarist) about the chaotic world of JERK.

Q. For the record, why "JERK" ?

Lamar: I was just trying to think of a cool name. JERK popped up and I thought
about all the great connotations and meanings (sexual and personal). I have dealt with a lot of JERKS and some of the material is about those people!

Q. Starting out, how was the response?

Johnathan: I reckon we had a pretty mixed response. I think a lot of people
weren't ready for it and ended up getting blown away. But we took them by the
hand and stayed larger than life!

Q. What inspires JERK?

LL: Sickness, either mental or musical. And beauty. Alternative views of life
and death as well as everyday occurances, both personal and experiencial.

Q. Describe the bands sound.

JD: The bands sound is hell on a leash, enveloping and embracing. It will put
you to sleep but give you nightmares!

Q: The year ahead for JERK?

LL. The year ahead will see Jerk completing 2 more videos, possibly creating a
DVD to tie together all the footage we have gathered after putting out the
EP. We will also be working on new material for a new album and touring as much as possible.
