Shown in most pictures he is
usually portayed as a sorta "goof-off" always making dumb faces, remarks
and usually with his signature middle-finger thing. He's also known as
"the best hugger" quoted from a fan in Adelaide in their earlier days.
He is known to break about 5 sets of sticks per gig getting crazy fans
rushing for them when he throws them into the crowd.
In silverchair's earlier days, their record company wouldn't let Daniel and
Ben do interviews together alone because they would ignore the interviewer
and joke with themselves.
The consederate side of Ben Gillies is viewed when recently Daniel's problems
was revealed and Ben would sometimes distract fans so Daniel
could slip away with ease and handles all of the fans when Daniel can't
handle it. Ben is also multi-talented as he can play the drums, guitar and
bass. He sold Chris his bass in the earlier days and is an inspiring song writer
shown in Freak Show. Hopefully we'll see more of his writing soon.
