When we look up
into the sky on a starry night, we can
see the beauty of the heavens as we see
the moonlight softly sweep over the
firmament below designed and created by
God. The stars which
brightly shine and are a beauty to
behold are God's voice in the
heavens to declare his glory as a writer
might relate a picture in words to
us. The word for declare
used in Hebrew in this verse is "saphar,"
which means to recount, to mark as a
tally, number out or inscribe. The
Psalmist David is telling us that the
heaven and earth confirm the existence
of our God, his glory and splendor,
as if speaking to us and
inscribing it in our minds.
The earth is the Lord's and the fullness
thereof. He who hung the stars in
the sky and created the sun and moon to
give light both day and night, made the
earth in all it's splendor. The
firmament shows forth the work of his
creation. The word,
"shows" which is used
here in Hebrew meaning, is "nagad"
which means to manifest, certify or
stand boldly out. God's handiwork
is certified in the beauty of the
heavens and earth as only God could
design each
star, tree, flower, mountain, brook or
ocean, in which man delights and enjoys.
Just to behold the beauty God has placed
in the firmament is to see and know that
our Creator was the one who designed it
and it is his handiwork. God's existence
is confirmed
everywhere as we look all around us.
Even the nights show knowledge and the
days utter speech as they number
out the glory of God and inscribe the
infinite works which only his power
could skillfully design as He spoke the
word and his spirit moved.
In the Book of Job, we see God asked Job
several questions. One question
was, "where wast thou when I laid
the foundations of the earth? declare,
if thou hast understanding. Who
hath laid the measures thereof, if thou
knowest? Or, who hath stretched
the line upon it? Whereupon are
the foundations thereof fastened? Or,
who
laid the corner stone thereof; when the
morning stars sang together, and all the
sons of God shouted for joy?" God
laid the foundations of the earth and we
know it was the work of a divine
person, not the development of one or
more evolving, self-existent
molecules.
It was by the hand of the Self-Existent
one who is our Lord and through His
Spirit.
We cannot know all these answers nor did
Job, and therefore are not qualified to
ever speak against God or His
Government. We cannot deny God's
existence as even his creation is
inscribed by the glory and majesty of
one who lives forever. Job says,
"the earth is stamped by the seal
of the morning like an image in clay is
made with a seal."
There are springs and depths of the sea
to which only God can provide a constant
supply of waters as in the oceans
into which water flows from all parts of
his creation.
The messages we see in the heavens and
earth are universal. All people
can behold these messages and know when
they look up to the skies or around this
earth God's glory is
declared by his marvelous
creation. If the beauty which we
now see declares his
glory, can we imagine how much more
glorious heaven will be and New
Jerusalem when all is perfected and our
Lord dwells in the midst of his
people? His glory will be seen as
it lights up that city and we shall then
behold Him who will be the light of that
city.
When you look up to the skies, know that
the Master Designer is being magnified
and glorified by the brightness and
beauty which He set in the
heavens. We are also to remember
that just as God created the beauty of
the heavens and earth, he also decorates
our lives and makes them into something
beautiful and new as he breathes life
into us when we are born again.
Only God can
take a person lost in sin and make all
things new to glorify and honor Him.
Praise to our God for his creation which
declares his glory and for giving us new
life that we might glorify Him who made
the heaven, earth and all within.
As our praises go up, the blessings come
down. The Lord is our defense, our
standard, trust and a means of
deliverance. He is our "all
in all" and is everything to our
soul. Without Him we could do nothing,
but with God we can do all things.
All glory and honor is due to his name
now and forever, amen.
Blessings in Christ,

A
Declaration Of His Glory
The heavens declare his glory,
The One who hung the stars,
The Creator who put the moon and sun in place,
Made Jupiter, Saturn, and Mars.
His splendor can be seen in the heavens
And all across the great Universe
All things were made by God,
In heaven and in this earth.
The
beauty which we behold,
Shows forth the glory of God,
Stars light the earth with a sparkle,
And flowers decorate this earth's sod.
The
design of the Master Creator
Is stamped upon earth and it's beauty within,
And the seal of his Holy Spirit,
Is stamped on hearts of all freed from sin.
The
heavens paint a glorious picture
And we can behold God's voice in each star,
The waters that fill the Ocean are sent by Him,
And each raindrop that falls in Spring's
showers.
How
can people deny a Creator?
When all heaven and earth declares his majesty?
One day every knee shall bow and declare he is
Lord,
The One who gave us new life and set us free.
Look
up and behold his glory,
As you gaze upward on a star lit night,
And look around all this earth each new day,
And behold all God's creation in his marvelous
sunlight.
