THE GOREAN CALENDAR

*vernal equinox (vűršnel ęškwe-nňks´) noun 1. The point at which the ecliptic intersects the celestial equator, the sun having a northerly motion. 2. The moment at which the sun passes through the vernal equinox, occurring on about March 21 in the Northern Hemisphere and marking the beginning of spring. In the calendar below for example the date of March 25 would be referred to as the 5th of En'Kara; could also be the fifth day of the first hand in the month of En'kara. Another example is May 1st would be written as the 2nd day of the the 3rd hand in the second month. or alternatively the 12th day of the second month. For passage hands,  April 17th would be the third day of the 1st passage hand. At the end of the year for example: March 18th would be the third day of the waiting hand.
