Caste System of Gor

The High Castes Members of the 5 High Castes make up the governing bodies of the City States of Gor. Caste of Builders: the caste which includes architects, draftsmen, stonemasons, etc.; their caste color is yellow. Caste of Inititates: the representatives of the Priest-Kings in Gorean society.; their caste color is white. Caste of Physicians: the caste which practices the healing arts.; their caste color is green. Caste of Scribes: the caste concerned with history, accounting, record-keeping, etc.; their caste color is blue. Caste of Warriors: the caste which includes infantry, tharlarion cavalry, and tarnsmen.; their caste color is scarlet. Lower Castes Caste of Assassins: the caste of those who kill for pay; exist mostly in Ar, but have been found in other cities; their caste color is black. Caste of Charcoal Makers: the caste of those who make charcoal; their caste colors are black and grey. Caste of Merchants: the caste of those who deal in merchandise and trading; their caste colors are white and gold. Caste of Metal Workers: the caste of those who deal with metal work of all kinds; their caste color is steel grey Caste of Peasants: the basic caste of Gor; they refer to themselves as the Ox on Which the Home Stone Rests; their cast color is brown. Caste of Poets: the cast of those who write and recite poetry; their caste colors are aqua and red. Caste of Pot Makers: the caste of those who makes pots and other ceramics; their caste colors are brown and green. Caste of Players: the caste of those who play kaissa; their colors are red and yellow. Caste of Saddle Makers: the caste of those who make saddles and tack for Tarns, tharlarions, etc.; their caste color is tan (leather). Caste of Singers (may be a subcaste of poets): the cast of those who write and sing songs; their caste colors are aqua and red. Caste of Slavers: the sub-caste of the Merchants, one who deals in human merchandise; their caste colors are blue and yellow. Caste of Tarn Keepers: the caste of those who tend and train Tarns; their caste colors are grey and green. Caste of Thieves: the caste of those who make their living by stealing, robbery, picking pockets, etc.; normally found in Port Kar. Caste of Wood Carriers: the caste of those who haul wood; their colors are brown and black.
