Hallo again!
I love my family and my home in the Wood, so I thought I'd take a few minutes to elaborate on them. Here we go!
I was born Edward Sanders, but have the nickname of Winnie-the-Pooh. But naturally, I was not the first with this nickname: the story of Winnie-the-Pooh was originally written by British author A. A. Milne, in his famous children's books Winnie-the-Pooh (1926) and House at Pooh Corner (1928). These stories were actually about my grandfather and the adventures he had with Milne's son, Christopher Robin, along with the other stuffed animals of the Hundred Acre Wood. The books were lovingly illustrated by Ernest H. Shepherd.
Here is a picture of my grandfather, along with his friends Kanga, Piglet, Eeyore, and Tigger (l-r):
My grandfather was named Edward Sanders as well, but acquired the nickname "Pooh" from a swan, and the nickname of "Winnie" from a black bear Christopher Robin used to love in the London Zoo. Quite a fascinating tale!
My twin, President Pooh, and I were born in the Hundred Acre Wood on April 7, 1985. Here is a map of our home:
We had many buddies growing up in Da Wood - Tigger, Piglet, Kanga and Baby Roo (BOO), Owl, Rabbit, Eeyore, my cousins C. and S. Pooh, and of course Christopher Robin! But when we entered school in Care-a-Lot, we gained friends from all over Joketown! The Care Bears and their Cousins, Luke, and Bosco, to name just a few. We love playing baseball (and football, soccer, hockey, basketball....) and Nintendo games and learning together.
A special mention must go out to my good friends Amit and Reshma, whose house I spend an inordinate amount of time at. Earlier I gave the link to Amit's homepage; here it is again: http://www.seas.upenn.edu/~armehta. Learn how he saved me from the Nose Monster, along with the 4th dimension!
As I was saying, we all attend school in Care-a-Lot, and it is just peachy. My favorite subject is math, which I shall go more in depth about later (as I developed something of a career out of it). I also play baseball for the team (my favorite pro team is the Chicago Cubs), and table tennis in my free time. I recently played in the French Open, where I lost in the final to the great Wish Bear. 'Til next time, I say!
Other than sports, I enjoy video games, especially Nintendo and Atari classics. Favorite games? Ninja Gaiden, Top Gun, Pitfall. Nothing from the last decade. As my twin would say, "The older, the better." My twin's favorite subject, by the way, is English, and if I may be so bold: he is The Master of English language and literature. His speciality is obscure tomes.
my twin's hat.
I think that's about it for the bio - currently it is June, and summer vacation is just around the corner. Can't wait for a few months of fun!! I will continue to update this page occasionally, however.
