Vote of Thanks

Ladies and Gentlemen, I have the privilege of recognizing those who have made today's event very enjoyable and those who have provided valuable services to VPA during the past two years.

First of all, on behalf of the executive committee for VPA East, I would like to extend our sincere thanks to all of you for your continued support over the past two years and for your participation in making this event a great success.

Over the past several years, our VPA East has benefited immensely from various individuals who have contributed generously.

A great part of today's success is owed to the generous donations from Dr. Puttaswamy from NEW YORK and Mr. Ram Gowda from VIRGINIA. I request Dr. Puttaswamy and Mr. Ram Gowda to come to the stage and receive a small gift as a token of our deep appreciation. Ladies and gentlemen, please join me in extending our sincere thanks to Dr. Puttaswamy and Mr. Ram Gowda.

Next, I would like to thank today's guest speaker Dr. Srikanth, our national VPA president, who traveled all the way from Chicago to be our keynote speaker.

I would like to thank Miss. Shruti Mahalingaiah for her informative speech which I am sure has inspired many of our youth to follow the path of achievement.

I would also like to thank Dr. Anjanappa for his help and support to our executive committee over the past two years and for overseeing the election of the new executive committee.

I would also like to thank the following individuals and their families; notably, Mr. Sreenivas Gowda and Mr. Babu Keelara from New Jersey, Dr. V. Sreenivas and Mr. Chikkaswamy from Maryland for their efforts and continued support over the past two years.

Two years ago, when we requested Dr. Seetharam Gowda to take the leadership of VPA East, he gladly accepted to serve as president and, as you all know, he has done a wonderful job. Please join me in extending our appreciation for Dr. Gowda.

I would also like to thank Mr. Sreenivas Gowda, the treasurer of our committee, who has spent countless hours planning various events of VPA East. I would also like to congratulate him for accepting the leadership of VPA East for the upcoming year. I am sure he is going to do a wonderful job and let us assure him that he has our continued support.

I would also like to thank Anu Gowda from New Jersey who has served enthusiastically for the past two years as our secretary. She remains as committed as ever to VPA East and I'm sure she will a valuable asset as vice-president of the new committee.

My special thanks to Mr. Shankar who has put in a lot of effort to create the VPA East website.

Finally, I would like to thank all the youth and adults who spent many hours practicing to make today's cultural performance extremely enjoyable. Once again, I would like to thank all of you for attending and hope you had a wonderful evening.
