1. INVOCATION

Invocation (Sri Krishnashtakam in Sanskrit) was by Master Hanuman Gowda son of Dr. Bharathi Gowda followed by VPA-Anthem (Dr. K.V. Puttappa ' s, Oh nanna chetana sung by Deepavali, a "festival of lights" was marked by lighting Deepas and Candles by women and men dressed in vibrant colors. They wished every one "Deepavaliya shubashayagalu".

2. WELCOME SPEECH

Dr. Seetharam Gowda ,President of VPA-EAST welcomed the Members gathered at the Deepavali 2000 Get-Together function on behalf of all VPA-EAST members. He expressed his appreciation to all the committee members for taking initiative and working hard to make this function in Baltimore Washington Area a success.

Dr. Channe Gowda, Vice President of VPA-EAST introduced and welcomed the new executive committee (2001-2002) members,

Dr. V. Sreenivas gave farewell to the present executive committee members and he praised their effort in creation of web-page, monumental cultural activities and digital pictures.

Dr. M. Anjanappa introduced 2001-2002 VPA National Office Bearers.

He also gave minutes of VPA-2000 Chicago Convention. He reminded everyone about upcoming 2002 National VPA Convention.

4. CULTURAL EVENTS

Shirin Sudhakar assisted by Mrs. Shashikala Sridhar, Nithin Jayadev, Shakya Harish, Manu Kuppalli, Smitha Gowda and Ashwini Anjanappa were the master of ceremony for the cultural events . There were lot of cultural events that afternoon,

  2. Bharathanatya and Folk Dance by Lakshmi Sridhar
  3. Classical Songs by Vinodini Gowda
  4. Karate Show by Pavan Kantharaju
  5. Film Song by Sai Prakash

  7. Skit by Bhyrava Kadalur and Sandesh Sreenivas
