"Frank and wife Kary will be at reunion with children Margaret and Joseph.  Harvie will be there too.  Jacob has duty in the Mission Hospital Emergency Department in Asheville, N.C., so he will not be coming.  Harvie and Frank hope to play lacrosse vs. G.S. students despite their shoulder and knee injuries."

"I work 4 days a week, do Free Clinic where I was named Virginia doctor of the year (pretty much a surprise for just doing my job) -perform in our Masterworks Chorus and Theatre-
Blythe Spirit, Music Man, Oliver, My Fair Lady, Amahl and the Night Visitors recently.  I do take a bareak now for playing with grandchildren.  I used to travel but I'm getting creaky. I get really stiff jointed sitting too long on camels in planes and cars.  I prefer glaciers to desert now because of heat intorerance.  The best in life is from love of friends, family and creating some beauty and comfort in my small world.  Margaret, Joseph, Elsa and Lilly give me plenty of laughs- grandchildren 2,1,6 and 2 years old.
Love to all."

My wife of 45 years, Phyllis, and I were married in 1958 when I was playing Flower Drum Song on Broadway.  I played with many bands and orchestras in the NYC area.  Harry Belafonte (8 week tour) Radio City Music Hall, Ringling Circus, Sauter Finnegan Orch.  I started teaching band in Hicksville, NY Public Schools in 1962 after a 2 year stint with Guy Lombardo.  Throughout my 33 years of teaching I also was adjunct faculty at Nassau Community College & Hofstra University.  During that time I also played freelance Dixieland, German bands, concert bands and the 1860's period band at Bethpage Restoration Village.

We have 3 cildren, Debbie, Leonore & Harry.  Leonore died July 9, 2000 as a result of Budd-Chiari Syndrome.  We live on <7 acres just 6 miles south of Winchester, VA.  I have had a couple bouts with cancer in my mouth.  April21, 2004 I had a Modified Neck Dissection performed at Johns Hopkins to remove lymph nodes from the right side of my neck. I just came home yesterday and am doing amazingly well---or I wouldn't be writing this.  I can still play my tuba!
Best regards to friends in Class od '54.  I would be glad to hear from anyone in the class.
