TAMIL THE GREATEST LANGUAGE OF THE UNIVERSE

Tamil the oriental language

Tamil is a language accepted to be originated from the Dravidian group of languages & is supposed to the fore runner as regards literary collections are concerned with uninterrupted 2300years of literary works. This is the only language in India that can boast of independent sustenance from the influence of indo-Aryan group .

There is a strong belief in the tradition of literary academies being patronised by pandian kings .Though the tradition takes us back upto 6000bc the works that are currently available cannot be dated beyond 500bc.

The literary academies are developed in three phases and the works now available are of the last phases.

Apart from the literary field now available there is a lot of research going on in the field of linking the Tamil & the Dravidian group with the harappen script. there is also a view going rounds that Tamil like language was spoken by early civilization makers of Sumerian Mesopotamia &even parts of Europe was occupied by dark skinned people from Mediterranean.

Tamil even today is spoken in the form of Brahui in parts of Pakistan. Many Indian languages though smothered by Aryan influence still retain Dravidian forms of vocabulary & grammar. apart from the south Indian languages there are various dialects spoken in the north that is close to Tamil.

It is also stated that as early as the period of rig Veda many Tamil words are visible in such texts.

Tamil language alphabets have sounds of two orders unlike the Sanskrit that has four orders.

Moreover the placement of characters in a particular position in a word has a specific sound order.

ka-as pronounced in kangaroo is a consonant  in Tamil. when in first position of the word like in kann-eye it pronounces as in kangaroo. But in intermediate position pronounces like "ga" in gas .agam-"inner"agal -lamp. The alphabet used is same but tthe order of pronouncing varies. Now there are if we intend to lower such order in between  words then tamil induces ik-as in thick & then adds ka to it as in awkkam. The same rule is applied to all consonants.

There is an alphabet pronounced as ak but definitely has some thing to do with Sanskrit ha  if placed in between consonants will produce the effect & also can be exploited for producing four order sounds as in Sanskrit. aham-oneself in Sanskrit can be aikkam in Tamil .

To be continued. next
