Dear Violet Hi Dear Violet, Do you know how I can find the names of the best new Hybrid introductions that were introduced at convention over the past 25 years? My club is celebrating its 25th anniversary and I want to use that information in the educational display. Thank you for your help. Eleanor NJ Dear Eleanor, You can go to the AVSA website and ask questions. They will e-mail the answer back to you in One or two days. I went to the site and did not see a listing for the top Hybrids so I asked the question. As soon as I receive the answer from them I will e-mail it to you. Sincerely, Dear Violet Dear Violet Yes I wonder why some violets take sooooo long to set and grow while others grow faster. I have a leaf I was given a year ago and it started just a couple of months ago. Now I have two plants. although they are not real big they are showing good signs now. They are "CORA" which I was told would be a big plant. Any idea? Also maybe Rachel could form a violet book for the group, as you can't buy them anymore. TERRY /Florida Dear Terry, I have searched first class 2 for CORA I did not find her. So it is hard for me to know what size she should grow to.. But it has been my experience in the past that some leaves take off right away and some take there own sweet time. I do know its best to use a newer leaf rather then a bottom row leaf. It has also been my experience that when putting up trailer leaves for some reason they start producing very fast. Much faster then any other variety. Hope this helps you, Sincerely Dear Violet |
