teachers including 82 Doctors of Science (Professors), 335 candidates
of science (readers) work at 40 department of the University. There
are 39 persons in the professorial-teacher's staff who have academic
ranks, one corresponding member of RAS; 65 University workers are academicians
and corresponding members of Russian Public professional and international
Academics.
During the whole period of its existence the VSTU trained more than
40 thousand engineers and technicians.
There
are 8 engineering departments in VSTU. They are:
• automatics and electromechanics,
• aviation,
• automatization and robotization of mechanical engineering,
• radioengineering,
• natural-humanitarian,
• engineering economy,
• physical-technical,
• evening and correspodence education.
The structure of VSTU includes two special departments of an additional
training, the department of military education, the preparatory faculty
for entering the University and Voronezh Regional Center of New Informational
Technologies. All graduating departments have (22) branches in Voronezh
leading enterprises and organizations.

Forms
of tuition: day-time tuition, evening tuition, tuition by correspondence.
The training personnel of higher qualification is carried out through
a post-graduate course (35 specialties) and a doctor's degree course
(6 specialties). The University has 13 specialized councils to win the
theses: seven of them are for doctor's degrees.
In the
sphere of an additional vocational education
VSTU carries out extension courses for the following specialties: management,
economic and organization of employers' activity, personal electronics,
information systems in electrical power engineering, economics and management
in enterprises.
The University
has modern educational buildings, laboratories supplied with up-to-date
equipment. The new information technologies have found a wide application
in the tuition processes. VSTU has its own site-address in Internet
network.
The total fund of scientific library includes more than 799 volumes.
There
are comfortable hostels, canteens, buffets, a health point, consulting
and treatment rooms at the disposal of students and workers of the University.
The Student's pleasure is organized by the University on the bases of
a sport-health camp «Raduga».
Research
activity of the University is carried out in 12 scientific fields of
science and technique development.
The University
has different forms of international cooperation, such as grant education,
participation in Scientific conferences, etc.
The VSTU cooperates with the international funds and programs, such
as SOROS FUND, international programs TASIS,
«Morosov Project» and others.
