Chapter 3

ooc: This is moving along great! ^^

Kiyoshi slowly stepped further into the gigantic room and one hundred shining eyes turned to look at her. Kiyoshi hesitated at the many pairs of pupils turned in her direction, but stiffened her upper lip and continued. She glided past the rows of wooden chairs with red velvet cushions. The room was filled with men of many different races and cultures, but most were pale, pink haired, blue or green eyed men in white coats and denim jeans. They studied her carefully as she passed them.

Kiyoshi squeezed through the small path between the chairs and arrived at the stage. A huge spot light shone brightly above her. She covered her eyes to shield them from the beam of light being projected on her. It seemed to be frying her alive. “Will somebody turn that thing off?!” she shouted at the top of her lungs, unaware of the fact a man was leaning down next to her to help her onto the stage. The man fell off the stage and landed on his egg-shaped head. He put his finger in his left ear and shot Kiyoshi a look of anger. “Oops,” Kiyoshi smiled and a bead of sweat rolled down her head. “Sowwy.”

Kiyoshi clambered up onto the stage and became dizzy at the site of all the men in the room. She looked over to her left and saw the general standing in the doorway. He gave her a little wink and her face flushed. She quickly turned around to face the man with the neon green hair and her face grew stern at his look of satisfaction. “What are you staring at?” Kiyoshi gave a little snort and his smile broadened. Why was he so happy about her sassy replies? The man took Kiyoshi’s tiny hand and dragged her over to the podium to stand beside him. Kiyoshi tried to pull away, but he was much stronger than her. He held her steady as he tapped on a little black ball floating above the surface of the podium. A black light swirled around the circular object and collected to make a ball point pen. He began to write something down on a scroll of paper and then handed it to the man who had previously fallen off the stage.

The green-haired man smiled and began to speak in a different language to the others in the room. As he spoke into the black ball, the men awed and gawked at each other. He must have been saying something really important, but Kiyoshi couldn’t understand him. Kiyoshi panicked and looked around frantically. She was about to make a run for it when something caught her eye. A small gray earpiece lay on the stage unseen by the deafened and green haired man. She picked it up and placed it in her ear to hear the last few sentences of the conversation.

“...and now that we have a specimen, we can commence the testing and reprocessing right away. We will have the ultimate weapon against all other countries, and they won’t suspect a thing. Who would ever think that a female of a small village could cause so much damage? When her body parts have been replaced and she is fully stable, we will erase her memory and unleash her.” The man looked at Kiyoshi menacingly, his hair like green fire in the bright light shining above. Kiyoshi began to back away slowly. Her mouth was hanging open and the earpiece fell from her head. It smashed onto the wooden floor and the man stared at it. He frowned and turned to the guards. He yelled out something in that different language, but Kiyoshi knew right away what he said, for guards surrounded her on all sides and moved in to capture her.

Kiyoshi ran at full speed and jumped head first into a guards stomach, making him fall to one knee. Her head was surging with pain from the metal placed on the guards chest, but she dashed through the gap in the circle of huge males. She rushed through the isles and was grabbed by a gray haired man in black jeans and a green trench coat. Her lifted her up by the collar of her garments and looked her in the eye. “I spent a lot of money on your development,” he said angrily, “and you’re not going to escape before I get my money’s worth.” Kiyoshi was trembling with fear and began to kick and scream as loud as she could. Her eyes glazed over and tears burst outward onto her cheeks. Kiyoshi clenched her teeth and tightened her jaw. A white light began to flicker around her body and the man stared at her in shock. His feelings were physically brought to life as a electric bolt of energy ran through his arm. He dropped the little girl and soon men all over the room were scrambling toward her. She was still crying, but she wiped her blurred eyes and ran through their legs. Her heart was pounding and it rattled against her rib cage.

A band of men circled around the electric gray haired weirdo. They were all apologizing franticly and brushing off his coat. He lifted his arm to his head, placing two fingers on his fore head and swiped through the crowd. The men who had surrounded him slit in half and their organs fell out of their disembodied parts. Tendants littered the floor as the man ran his fingers through his shiny gray hair. “I’ll have her soon enough.”

Kiyoshi reached the door to the corridor and slammed it open. She flung herself through the doorway and dashed down a hallway unfamiliar to her. As she was about to round a corner a small hand reached out and grabbed her arm. It pulled her into a dark room and Kiyoshi soon saw the person it was attached to. A small boy with light blue hair and eyes to match stood before her. He was no taller than she, and might have been a year older, if that. A light in his eyes flickered as the fire burned the candle wick farther to its base. His face was emotionless and pale. Kiyoshi was still too shocked to move, and was terrified that he might be part of their plans.

Loud footsteps were heard outside the door and Kiyoshi whipped around to see shadows creep through the space between the door and the floor. Kiyoshi gasped, but only a short peep got out of mouth her mouth before it was covered by a soft, pale hand. Kiyoshi stood perfectly still, waiting for the shadows to leave. The shadows conversed and went on their ways. Kiyoshi closed her eyes in relief.

The boy moved his hand away from Kiyoshi’s mouth and Kiyoshi turned to face him. Kiyoshi was dying to know, “Who... who are you?” The boy looked at the ground and a tear rolled down his cheek. It fell to the floor with a tiny splash and Kiyoshi frowned in pity. “They took you from your home, too, didn’t they?” The boy nodded his head and went over to a dark corner to sit. His room was much smaller that Kiyoshi’s had been, and you could barely see a thing. He had a four foot cot to sleep on and a wooden rocking chair to sit in. He wore torn and dirty garments that were wearing at the seams. The tan stone walls well cold and dripping with water. Kiyoshi went over to join him, but he shook his head and pointed to the chair. Kiyoshi nodded thoughtfully and sat in it.

The boy looked up into Kiyoshi’s eyes and spoke his first word to her. “Hell-o,” he stammered. Kiyoshi strained to hear his quiet attempts to speak. “My... my name Ray.” He furrowed his brow at his english and stopped speaking for awhile. Kiyoshi stared at him for that while, waiting for him to say something more. He just stared at the floor and sighed. Kiyoshi was about to ask him where he was from, when the door suddenly busted open. Kiyoshi screamed as the soldier she had assaulted in the stomach and hour before grabbed her by her hair and lifted her into the air. What was she going to do?*
