Steel Magnolias

Robert Harling's semi-biographical Steel Magnolias is a funny and touching comedy-drama set in a local Louisiana beauty parlour, where having a blow-dry also means endless small-town gossip about life, love and friendship. The relationships of Truvy, the parlour owner, her eager assistant Annelle and their friends Clairee, Ouiser, M'Lynn and Shelby are tested to the limit when tragedy strikes, and the depth of love and friendship underlying their idle banter is ultimately revealed.
