Tirest of Vorune - Written Information

Age: 27
Gender: Male
Birthdate: 27 April
Residence: Minbar

Appearance: Height: 6 foot 3 inches  * Weight: 235 lbs  * Dark eyes, slightly darker than average skin tone  * Triple pointed heavy skullbone

Personality:Tirest of Vorune is an out going and aggressive young Minbari. He is often arrogant in the extreme in dealing with other races, especially humans. This young Wind Sword word is his bond, when he gives it he will die before he breaks it. Honor means everything to him. He is a death before dishonor type personality. (But neither before breakfast)

Family:Tirest of Vorune is the eldest child of Falyst, an aide to a member of the Council of Elders and Sylisest, Alyt of the Minbari Crusier Trison.

Interests/Hobbies:
Tirest of Vorune has a love of all things martial in origin. He can often be found studying new weapons and forms of combat. He was infected by the Religious Caste with a curiosity about the combat strategies used by Valen in the last Great War against the Shadows. While he does not have a calling to the Anla’shok (Rangers) he will if time permits question passing members about the history of different maneuvers. Tirest also has great love of history his primary focus is the Minbari Warrior Caste prior to the arrival of Valen.

Previous History: Tirest studied under the Religious Caste as do all young Minbari. When the war with the Humans began Tirest was still
to young to follow the calling of his heart. When he reached the age of independence Tirest became a Warrior in the tradition of his family. He joined the Wind Sword Clan and began to study under Alyt Neroon, of the Star Rider Clan, learning security protocol on board a Minbari cruiser stationed along the Pak'ma'ra border. The young Wind Sword improved his skills with the Fighting Pike and the Sha'ann. Tirest practiced the Minbari martial art of Kalan'tha until he was preforming moves by pure instinct. In the style of the Wind Swords, Tirest combined Kalan'tha moves with skills required for the fighting pike.Tirest transfered to the Minbari Cruiser Dukhat shortly after the ship was commisioned and about a week before Alyt Neroon became Shai Alyt Neroon, following Shai Alyt Bremer's death. On the Dukhat Tirest served as a security officer rising to the position of third of security
during his two years onboard. Neroon has recently risen to the Grey Council replacing Delenn of the Religious caste.  He recently recieved his orders from Satai Neroon to transfer to the Volkune Colony World of Pax VII.

Shortly after his arrival on Pax XII the young Minbari became embroiled in the facilities difficulties.  His security training caused him to interfer with the Earth Alliance force that was assigned to security and brought him to the attention of the Colony's commander and the commander of the Volkune ship Vol.  Shortly after the entire command staff vanished and Tirest was trust into the role of Chief of Security for the facility.  He set about reestablishing order and dealing with the major security threat offered by the interstellar crime cartel known as DRAGG.  Order was restored and between Tirest and his security and the returning senior officers the
majority of the criminal population was rounded up.  Tirest has initiated a cross training of all security personnel in order to weed out the humans who are totally unfit for duty.  The Minbari warrior has under taken the task of learning standard Volkune while teaching Warrior Caste Minbari to his officers.  Tirest's ties to the Minbari government are hard to pin down.  Satai Neroon has been known to help his young pupil but often makes the Wind Sword Tirest earn his own way.  With the Grey Council now broken how much aid Tirest will get from his mentor is unknown.

Background Discovered during Pax Mission 2: Tirest of the Family Vorune was catapulted up the ranks of the Wind Sword Clan and the Warrior Caste by the outbreak of the Great Shadow War a thousand years ago. He had just barely passed the age of majority when he became a ship captain and then Shai Alyt of his clan. He is the youngest Minbari ever to attain such rank even under battle conditions. It was his ship that discovered Babylon 4 when it emerged from its time travels in the past. Tirest led the boarding party onto the station and was the first to meet Valen/Sinclair and his Vorlon Honor Guard. In several battles that followed the arrival of B4 to the past Tirest displayed tactical skills beyond his years and wisdom not usually associated with the Warrior Caste. After the war Valen advised by the Vorlons selected Tirest to become one of the Nine of the first Grey Council. The Vorlon had seen something that led them to believe that Tirest had a great destiny to fulfill. Tirest accepted Valen’s challenge/offer to join the newly formed council and govern Minbari civilization. During the Great War Shai Alyt Tirest’s older sister, Salia, fell in love with and married Valen. Tirest welcomed his friend into his family unaware of the challenges that lay ahead for the couple. When Valen retired as leader after the war, Tirest and the other members of the Grey Council, gave him a house near the training grounds of the Rangers he had founded to help fight the Shadows and to prepare for their return in a thousand years. Tirest marveled at his friends gift of prophecy and made his friend write his visions down so that the Councils to come and the people could be guided by his wisdom in the future. Tirest became a proud uncle two years after the end of the war. The child however was strange its bonecrest hardly covered it head and it had hair on its head, not a feature of Minbari. Valen and his family were forced to flee Minbari space. Only Tirest had spoken for them on the Council, mostly to protect his sister’s honor, but also out of friendship for Valen. Shortly after Tirest turned Seventy-five he received a message from Valen and met with the outcaste Minbari leader. Valen explained that he was from the future and that he had been born of a race called humans. He had secretly sent his wife and children back to Minbar to live out their lives. He had another goal to pursue the search for a friend lost in time. He asked Tirest if he would escort him to the Epsilon system and then give him a fighter. Tirest agreed reminding Valen that as a member of the Grey Council he had sworn to follow Valen through fire what could be so bad about a trip to the Epsilon system. They were soon to find out. In the Epsilon system hung the remains of B4 the station that had saved the galaxy from the Shadows. Around it were the ships of the Shag Toth (Soul Hunters). They had come sensing the death of Valen the great leader of the Minbari; his soul would be a prize beyond measure for them. When Valen’s fighter launched a second one launched with it piloted by Tirest. The Satai engaged the Soul Hunters and as far as Valen was to know sacrificed his life so that he could go to rescue Catherine Sakai. Satai Tirest did not die completely, very close to the complete loss of his soul, a Vorlon ship arrived and rescued him, but the Soul Hunter that had captured the majority of his soul escaped with his prize. The Vorlon took Tirest’s body back to the Vorlon homeworld and there worked to preserve his remaining life force. The Minbari’s body was preserved for close to a thousand years before the Vorlons gave him a new set of memories to hold the place of his lost ones.
