I bought my '89 reatta with slightly more than 37,000 miles on it in March of 1999. It now has over 50,000 miles on the clock with absolutely no trouble at all. My car has every available option from the factory, which is fairly rare. I've done a few minor modifications to it, and am planning on more in the future. I love this car for many reasons, but the two main reasons are that it's a BUICK (my first car was a BUICK too), and second it gets more stares and attention than your average VETTE or PORSCHE. I've seen guys in brand-new BMW 750s and the like nearly twist there neck's off as they try to get a better look. :) The fact that I live in a fairly small town doesn't hurt, except that the local Buick dealer had never even seen one before, much less worked on one. I realize a lot of people are buying these cars to collect and only drive during warm weather. I on the other hand have no choice but to use mine as daily transportation, you see I'm only a poor college kid. I can't affoard two cars right now. I have fun with it though, I autocross at SCCA events on occasion and show it every chance I get. For a daily driver that sees rain, snow and cold, it is as close to perfect as you can get. I clean it religiously and never let it stay dirty longer than foul weather permits. Everything on this car 100% original except the tires, hoses and serpintine belt. Everything works, including the keyless entry and CRT screen. I've now driven it for more 15,000 miles without any problems at all.
