DIY: Removing Your Door Pins
A scary flaw of Saxo's security is that the door pins is the easiest way to get in without causing any damage (if you are a bad person you will know exactly how to do this, he he). This page shows you how to remove the door pins which makes your car safer and look just that little bit different from the other saxo's.
Follow these instructions below:
1) Right then, first off, make sure that the windows are closed. 2) Remove the door cards. to do this take off the screw behind the inside door handle and the one, then the one beside the wing mirrors. 3) With the door cards off you will see the plastic sheeting on the door. peel this back enough to get a hand in behind it. 4) Put a hand inside the door and find where the door pins meet the connector on the lock mechanism. Take a hold of this and with your other hand bend the door pin towards the inside of the car, untill the door pin pops off. this can be tricky. 5) Replace the plastic sheet (securing it with duck tape is a good idea) and then the door card and the two screw removed in part two. 6) finally, fill the holes left from the door pins with 6mm grommets (available from halfords). |
